Coolaroo Exterior Roller Shade, Cordless Roller Shade with 90% UV Protection, No Valance, (8' W X 6' L), Mocha

I absolutely love the Coolaroo Exterior Roller Shades! I ordered them in the Mocha color, and it’s perfect for our space. They do a fantastic job blocking the sun and keeping our back porch cool and comfortable. The quality is excellent, the instructions are good, the installation is easy, and they look great. We’re so happy with them that we’re already planning to buy two more soon!

These shades are great! We have eight of them around our deck. It's a great way to keep the rain and snow out. We close them and turn on the patio heaters and we can enjoy our deck in the winter months too. We have lots of wind and cold weather and hot in the summer and the haven't faded and have held up great!

In my opinion these are the best cordless shades on the market. I have been waiting and searching for some top quality and attractive shades for more than 2 years on Wayfair and the internet now and I always end back up with these as my number 1 choice. I have two 96" x 72" and one 48" x 72" to create an enclosed private area on my upstairs backyard patio. What's even better is the price. These three would have cost me over $350 in Mocha elsewhere. Timing is everything and I purchased all three of them on Amazon Prime for $124.22! You instantly feel cooler once they are rolled down and secured with the included tie downs. Installation was a breeze. They also block out the sun and UV rays that comes through an upstairs 8' window on the patio. As an unexpected bonus to us the shades have drastically reduced the heat that comes through that window. They are pretty thick but you can still see right through them and feel the wind coming through them. I also called Coolaroo to have them verify the warranty. They were very friendly and helpful. Customer service assured me that the workmanship of the material and the material in general is covered with a 3 year warranty. If you need other replacement parts that pertain to the mechanics of the product they are available for purchase at a reasonable price when and if needed. I make on average 82 Prime purchase from Prime every year and have saved tons of money and no I am not an employee of Amazon or know anyone that is an employee. Bottom line is you cannot go wrong with these roller shades if you purchase them through Amazon Prime. The savings on this purchase alone for me is worth > 2 years of Prime subscription.

Appears to be well made. Easy to install and Installation Instructions are very good. I can't comment on Durability or Sturdiness because it just newly installed. Although the supplied hand crank works well, I would like a motorized version (or accessory motor drive for this roll-up). This 8' roll-up replaced a hanging piece of woven greenhouse screen that worked fine, but it is nice to be able to roll it exactly to the required height (adjustable) with the crank. A motor drive with remote would allow us to adjust it from the dinner table or from inside the house. We use it frequently so I consider it money well spent.

Easy install. Smooth operation. Great value. Looks very nice on our deck when lowered. Very well made. You can still see the view through it but are shaded at the same time. Perfect solution for our situation.

Aug '23- Still rolls no probs. Fabric not torn, still good. Replaced the bungees (harbor freight) once. Highly recommend Jun '17- We ordered 1 to keep the sun from hitting our door in the evening, in Texas. It worked so well we ordered a 2nd one. These are built good and the fabric is very nice, seems like it will hold up for a few years of the TX sun. If I remember I'll report back in 30 mos. The TX sun will crush whatever UV-resistant product there is so it will be interesting later. As for installation, very easy for a handyman. Follow the instructions, measure twice, drill once and it's installed nicely. We even adjusted the mounts to be used in a top mount, as opposed to a wall mount (they configuration they're shipped in) It worked well and mounted by measuring and drilling some pilot holes then screwing the brackets in, aligning the shade and snapping it in. The roller action to extend and retract is smooth and easy. You could spend less at the big box stores for the type that roll up/down with strings, I'm glad we didn't and I would suggest that if you're looking, for about $25 more this is far superior, get it. It's worth it.

Really liked the solid construction and the heavy durable fabric. We shopped around and found the prices to be well reasonable for the quality. The installation which took about 30min or less was very easy. A drill and the appropriate size bit along with tape measure, level, screwdriver and maybe a hammer if you are installing in masonry or similar materials just to set the anchors. All necessary hardware was supplied. We installed a 4ft for our little screened in herbal garden retreat. We also decided to screen in our deck and installed a 8ft and 6ft. What a difference in providing privacy during the daylight hours and still see out with no harsh heat effects from the sun. Also a plus, if there is moderate to light rain, they can aide to help keep things dry. We love the design especially with the wand which makes letting down or rolling up a breeze. We will be purchasing two more as we add on a screen room.

Ordered this to block sun at the end of my deck outside and it is very well suited for that. Very good quality construction and fabric and operation. My only issue was the brackets with the "clutch" (raising and lowering mechanism) take up a few inches of room I wasn't planning on. I order d a 4' wide for a 50" wide space between the side of the house and deck post. I had to use my plunge tool to notch out the 6x6 post for the idle end to allow for extra width. If you are mounting on the outsides of a space or from a ceiling mount you should be ok. If you are mounting between a fixed space like mine you need to double check your dimensions. Also it comes standard with a right hand raising and lowering mechanism. Switching this to the left side is telatively easy but when reversing that mechanism ("clutch") it puts the eye you hook the control rod into on the back side. Just a note again depending on your space. It is also a little tight when raining and lowering with this control against a wall because of the hook on the control rod; you have to lift the rod upwards to keep the end of the hook from scraping the wall. If you are not going to be raising and lowering this frequently not an issue. If it was a daily action I would consider it a pain. Mine will be down mostly. It also comes with nice little bungees and brackets for them to hold the bottom of the curtain down. This is a very nice outdoor sun screen and I would recommend it!
