An inch below the knot is a five inch section that is too ridged (due to glue) to bend making these hold a D shape. The only way to get enough slack to slip the loop over the knot is to squeeze the shackle completely flat against the stiff part. I tried to feed the end through a factor 55 flat link and the ends of a tree savor strap and I could not get the loop back over the knot do yo lack of flexibility/length/slack of the shackle. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great *by W***G on Reviewed in the United States on March 20, 2021* I finally got to use this two days ago and it worked great. I hooked it up to the tow hook on a 3/4 ton pickup that was buried to the frame in snow. Using a kinetic recovery rope I was able to pop that truck right out with my midsize farm tractor. The shackle seems well built and held up very well to the work. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Initial impressions seem good. *by E***S on Reviewed in the United States on March 11, 2019* My initial impression of these shackles is good but time will tell. Have been thinking I will test them with a high lift jack. I can't speak to their durability, or if they will even work, yet but they seem to be made well and should do the trick. The sleave should be useful to prevent cuts or abrasion to the shackles.
