Great Mic
This is a great radio mic. The orange button to talk makes the mic stand out so it can be easily distinguished. The sound is very clear, and it's very easy to operate. I would recommend it, if you have a radioddity radio!

Looks good, feels good, works good
Radioddity RS-22 Speaker Microphone This Speaker Microphone seems better built in terms of weight, size, grip radius and lapel clip construction when compared with most others in its price range, and many in a much higher price bracket. The case fitment is very nice. No sharp corners. The back fits perfectly with no noticeable difference where it meets the front shell. The cable strain relief, external earphone jack dust cover PTT and top button fit perfectly where they fit into the shell. Durability - It doesn’t look like it will shatter the first time it is dropped (or many times thereafter). It appears ready for action and should hold up well over time. The PTT button has a positive operation in terms of sound and feel. There is no fear that the transmission may have been missed due to poor grip and mushy action. Speaker sound quality and Microphone audio are top notch; especially for an offering in this price range. I tested this microphone with Radioddity DMR models GD-77, GD-77S and RD-5R. It produced clear audio on each. There was some minor “motorboating”; noticeable only on the RD-5R. It performed perfectly on analog with each model tested. But, here is the kicker - I got exactly the same results using a Kenwood SMC-30 and SMC-32 on the same radios. Those models cost considerably more. I would expect similar results on any radio using the Kenwood mic plug spacing and wiring. This should be a good seller that is hard to keep on the shelves. The price point and performance put it near the top of the choices available in low to moderately priced speaker microphones.

Just what we needed!!
Works great! We have no complaints at all. The clarity is nice, it seems durable, and what I like is that the clip on the back is big, solid, and stays in place!

Okay, could be louder.
I purchased this speaker mic because of its size and sturdy appearance. With past speaker mic experience, I've found the larger ones to have a fuller, more robust, sound to them making it easier to hear in louder environments or to understand garbled signals. I paired this speaker mic with a Radioddity GM-30 GMRS radio from the same manufacturer as the speaker mic. There is no question that this is a well built and sturdy speaker mic for a very reasonable price. I found the volume level in a noisy environment to be disappointing and less than desirable even though I had the radio at max volume. I eventually swapped over to an in-ear type speaker bud with chest mounted mic so that I could hear radio traffic reliably. Using it outside of the noise, the speaker mic performed admirably and did have good sound clarity. All-in-all, I like the speaker mic but the volume out of it could be better.

Significant upgrade to the original mic. Buy it now and you'll be happy!
Wow, this is a significant upgrade to the speaker mic provided with both my Baofeng and Btech branded HT's. I am EXTREMELY happy with the audio quality. The coiled cord is softer and WAY more flexible than the ones provided in my original HT bundle. Definitely worth the price. I will be tossing all my originals and buying a few more of these. Thank you Radioddity!

Not all it's claimed to be.
The first thing I noticed is the overall heft of the mic which directly proportional to it's rugged construction. The audio out/earpiece port is very handy and is covered by a rubber dust flap which doesn't stay closed very well. Upon first transmission the individual receiving my broadcast said I was very muffled. I did some further testing and sure enough the mic did not pick up my voice clearly even in the least. Don't do as I did, I'm a somewhat seasoned electronics tinkerer! I opened up the mic knowing full well any warranty would be instantly voided. The first thing I found was a rolled o-ring gasket that was also squished between the plastic housing pieces. Once I removed the internal circuit board I found the hole in the front of the unit that is meant for audio passage to the internal component microphone did NOT line up whatsoever! I drilled an additional hole directly in front of the component microphone which helped clear up my transmissions but not a whole lot. After poking around on the board for a while I found the component microphone is in line with a series of other electronic components which I assume has a sort of filtering effect of the audio being picked up from my voice. I ended up bypassing all that garbage on the board and went direct to the input to the radio with the signal. My transmissions are now almost crystal clear. It took some modifications to make this speaker/microphone into what I was hoping for. The most disappointing part is that the unit is very rugged and made of thick, reinforced, high quality plastic yet the audio is so awful. The size is perfect in my hands and the speaker output is fantastically loud. If the manufacturer could design and construct the internal microphone with improvements it would actually be a GREAT speaker mic! The buyer should not have to modify and improve where the manufacturer falls short.
