The distance is 150 ft.** A: We have several intercomes all over our house and several in our workshop. The distance from our house to the workshop is about 50 feet or so. If you want to constantly hear everything from the other room, you just need to set your devices with the same channel code as other station and press VOX button on the device you want to hear from instead of your unit. And you can also answer he/she by pressing and holding the TALK button on your device when you receive the information. And we are sorry for that it cannot be achieved when you say "call room a" to be connected with a certain room as needed. When you want to call the station from the other room, you need to change the channel code the same as the other station manually, and you need to press and hold TALK button to talk. I do recommend this product. 9/22/19 3:10 am ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Uses FRS/GMRS frequencies However there is a small hitch *by S***R on April 10, 2020* This works great, it is basically a "base station" type FRS/GMRS radio. You can use it if you have USB Power available like a power bank. It has decent range. However looking at the manual Channel 1 and Channel 22 are swapped Channel 1 is 22 and channel 22 is 1 in the band it uses. Not a problem unless you do not know about the channels if you think it is broken it is not just that some how they swapped the channels for whatever reason. It uses CTCSS codes and some DCS squelch codes as well to limit it to radios that can use those features. There is 99 codes I HIGHLY suggest you read the manual online as the product does not come with one so you know what to do if you use an FRS/GMRS Radio as one of the transceivers. It has been very useful for the time I have had it and it helps me stay in touch with my mom. The monitor feature is great if you need to listen to a room or a child. The only cons are that of the channel swap and lack of manual with the product. Pros: Long distance, easy set up once you know the ins and outs, compatibility with the FRS/GMRS radios, Monitor feature, VOX feature, call button.
