True+Real Therapeutic Plus Tar Gel Shampoo 0.5% Coal Tar, 16 Fl Oz

I have a staph aureus infection from scalp to under my feet. I am being treated by doctors of course, but this is a severe problem. It can be lethal to the person. The itching is maddening . And the infection leaves abrasions, rash sores, even some lumps on my head. This shampoo works very well. It relieves itch. Of course its temporary. The disease is not cured yet. But it removes some every shampoo and relives the itch enough to not lose my mind. I have bought dozens of items for hair, scalp and skin. This one works well. I plan to keep using it even after the infection is gone. The tar smell goes away fast. I recommend this highly. How did I get this deadly infection? Front End loaders, washers and dryers. They had no ability to clean themselves.. Buy clothes, sheet, pillow cases, towels, and much more had to be disposed of. The machines were buoying up bacteria, mold and fungas in them. There is NO safe brand of these. Get rid of them. I( drilled holes in mine and pounded out the controls with a hammer and screwdriver so the used appliance dealers would not retrieve them from the junk yard. Years back all the manufacturers were sued in a class action suit. EVERY brand with NO exceptions. You can google this. I did not notice my notification on it. It was only 35.00 regardless. They admitted no wrong doing and no recall. On 20 million machines. I am fighting for my life now. Close to death several Times and pulled through. Get rid of them! Nothing is worth this. If you cannot buy new machines, rent to own. Settle for a cheap pair. I bought top loaders and they have a huge barrel in them like the front loaders do. The deadly things growing in the machines were both in the washers and the dryers. Get rid of them. I have been sick now 15 months. Often can barely walk. I will answer any questions you send. I suffer from eczema on my scalp and have been using tar gel shampoo for several years now. I try to buy the store brand (CVS, Publix, etc.) when they have it because it's a little less expensive than the Neutrogena T/Gel. However, all the stores and pharmacies around me have been out of stock of everything, which brought me to Amazon and this product. I am very pleased with it - it works just as well and the price is great...even cheaper than store brands! My only caution is the smell is a lot stronger than the Neutrogena original formula. It smells more like the extra strength. I don't mind though - that's to be expected with tar gel. And I use regular conditioner after shampooing so my hair still smells great! Highly recommend, especially if you need a strong product for more serious scalp conditions.

This is a great T-Gel alternative. It works just as well as Neutrogena's product that I have used for years to clarify my hair & scalp. The only issue is the packaging. Each time I have received this there is NO SEAL on the bottle, and despite it being wrapped in plastic, it leaks and makes a mess. I would not order this with any other products that might be damaged by shampoo, but for the price I guess it's worth the risk. Maybe Amazon could stop cutting corners with their packaging, but we all know that won't happen...

This product got rid of my daughters dandruff better than head and shoulders! She has been suffering from bad dandruff for over a year, and I decided to try this out. Within one wash there were barely any flakes. After the second wash, her dandruff was completely gone. I use it on my hair occassionslly, when it gets a little greasy. However, I generally stick with Argan based shampoos, because my hair dries out. If you have issues with this drying out your hair, or are worried from the reviews, buy some extra moisturizing conditioners and hair masks. Let's make one thing clear about this product. It is specially designed to get rid of dandruff on oily, greasy hair that is prone to flaking. As a result, it is in no way moisturizing, so make sure you aren't scrubbing it on your ends. It's too harsh for that. For your ends get an Argan based shampoo. I bought a shampoo and conditioner on Amazon for under $20. Don't go for name brand stuff. It doesn't work. I got artnaturals argon oil conditioner and shampoo. A better shampoo on the pricier side is Brooklyn Botany Moroccan Argan Oil. If you have bad ends, get Marc Anthony Grow Long repairing anti-breakage mask. After you shower, top it all of with some Argan or coconut oil on your ends only. I know this sounds overwhelmingly ridiculous, but I have been trying products for the last 6 years trying to find the perfect stuff. Even if your ends aren't all that bad, I still recommend buying a moisture rich hair mask or conditioner for them. This shampoo is good for dandruff, but it is harsh on the vulnerable ends of long hair.
