Base has some weight to it so stability should not be a problem. No assembly instructions but it wasn’t that hard... if one finds it difficult to assemble, then probably doesn’t need to be doing things that would require this tool. Even received an extra alligator clip. I do wonder: when using for soldering, would the heat transfer melt the rubber coating in the clip?
