Artful Sentences: Syntax as Style

An excellent book. Just what I have been seeking. An in depth collection and study of syntax and sentences. Informative and very useful, the book is stuffed full of examples and is very in depth with its analysis of those sentences.

Can't say enough about this book. It's absolutely rammed with stuff I just want to absorb. I want to know every tiny bit of it and learn it inside out. Explanations assume a fairly solid understanding of sentence grammar, but the examples themselves are fantastic for illustrating the point even if you don't understand all the grammatical terms. For any writer or student who wants to improve his or her writing toolbox, this is a must

You'd do better to read a book by an author that you admire rather than plough through this dry commentary.This is simply a "stamp collection" of sentences with very formal descriptions of the examples.Awful.
