Amazing Designs LITTLE MAX Box Reader/writer + Card

This is a must for owners of older embroidery machines (that do NOT have USB connectivity built into the machine). I use a Bernina Deco 650 with Windows 10, I previously used an OESD Mini Magic Box Plus to convert designs from the internet or CDs to the card to use in the machine. The mini magic box is not usable with Windows 10 or a 64 bit driver so it's now obsolete (OESD is not providing support any longer for it). The Little Max has worked perfectly and it's cheaper than buying a new embroidery machine at this point. The customer service from Jeannette at Amazing Designs was great, she gave me the directions on how to download and install for Windows 10 (don't use the CD that comes with the product - go to the the web-site and download the current software and driver info). I'm finally able to download and use new designs in my older embroidery machine and am not stuck with just the designs that came loaded on the machine. I'm very pleased with this purchase!

I really like this handy little card reader/writer. And yes, now it will work on a Mac. Free downloadable software called "Emboxer" by Embrilliance is available now for Mac in Beta. It is fully compatible with the Little Max. I keep all my embroidery patterns on my Mac and really wanted a card writer and the Little Max fits the bill. I have a Babylock Ellegante and it works great with that. I've just gotten my Little Max today and it was totally plug and play.

I love this nifty little box. It did exactly what I wanted it to do. It transfers embroidery designs that I buy off of the web to my little card that comes with the box. I then put the card into my embroidery machine and presto I can see the images. Works perfect!

Description is incorrect - CD has NO Mac compatible software to install or run the device. MUST have a Windows based computer to run or bootcamp your mac.

I love the Little Max. I had one of the first "black boxes" which was the fore runner of the LM. After years of use, it finally gave up. My first embroidery machine was the Bernina 600 which I still have. Since I had so much invested in designs, it was not practical to change or update machines. I'm a family sewer not a professional. I also have two other brands which embroider. I have two LM cards which allow me to copy free embroidery patterns and use them in either of my machines. They do not hold as many patterns as the old machine cards but then you only embroider one design at a time. I',m very satisfied and would highly recommend the Little Max.

It works as it should, however, the description says it will read Janome cards. What it doesn't say is that it doesn't read the old ones that fit the MC8000, which is the only reason I bought it to begin with. The old cards are a bit thicker & won't fit into the reader. Other than that, it works like a champ, and I'm able to download patterns off of my computer onto the card and run it in my machine.

Only giving it 2 stars because I simply could not get the driver to be recognized. It wasnt a simple plug in play. I have worked with computers for over 20 years and this product beat me. Because its a legacy product, you need a digital driver signature. I have a windows 7 computer. This product does not come with a digital signature so I had to go in and configure my computer to just simply install the product. Once installed, it could not find any driver. I am sure its a great product but I could not use it.

Love it.....works just the way it is advertised. Do wish more details of the product were given so that you were more aware of what you are getting before you order something just based on other users reviews. Thank goodness for reviews by the customers as to guide you in your decision making. Am glad I chose to purchase this though, so much easier than downloading the cd, opening the files, taking to a usb.....etc.......well worth the money!!
