Only thing is that Elise has a secret which makes her feel she can’t have any more relationships. This was a story filled with possibilities, second chances and love. This is my second and they are both two of my favorite books. Until this year, I'd never read one. When buying her gift this year I accidentally purchased a Kindle version. Upon realizing my mistake, I downloaded that version to my iPad and then ordered the printed copy for her. That's why I read The Mistletoe Promise this year. The storyline moved quickly and Evans' style is engaging. I enjoyed the book and found myself high-lighting key thoughts along the way. It was as if the author was speaking to me. One of those phrases was about hope when Nicholas (the leading male character) wrote... "My dear Elise, It’s been said that the Magi, wise men, gazed up into the night skies, following a star. But they were not looking for a star. They were looking for hope. Hope of a new world. Hope of redemption. Light is not found in dark places, and hope is not found looking down or looking back. May you always look up". This passage struck me, in part, because without hope it's easy to let optimism and opportunity slide by. And, in part, because for all those Christmases I've also sent a crystal star to my son's family to add to their tree. Maybe it's become the family tree of hope.
