Keeping Her Keys: An Introduction to Hekate's Modern Witchcraft - Second Edition

Yes to this book. Easy to read, goes into details about Hekate and working with the goddess. I am so happy I read through the reviews because someone did recommend this book and I am now recommending it. I am onto the next book Entering Hekates Cave. The author has done a tremendous job in her writing and having the reader comprehend and stay interested in the writing.

Love it so far. I love how personalized the author took with their approach to writing about her. I really look forward to deepening my connection to Lady Hekate with a lot of the rituals in the book. ❤️

If you follow hekate this is a must! Beautiful book.

Great for what it is, well written, clear, and informative. But what I was looking for was a book about Hecate, who she is, the stories and myths, her place in the universe, and what this is is a course on how to become a devotee, a Hekatean. I wanted to see if I was drawn to her, not commit sight unseen, as it were, to her. So I am not following the course as I should; I'm just reading it, with the idea I might start over later, when I've learned more. It may not be altogether helpful that I am also reading about Mary Magdalene at the same time.

This is a great book, Comes with a program, Step by step detail. Her wisdom is awesome!!, it’s my new way of life. And her classes are great substance for life. I did recommend this book to All my witchy friends, Who believe in Heckate. ( All Hail) Yes, There’s are many books on line but not like my Teacher’s, Keeping her keys, in my perspective is the Best!.

This book is a self realization workbook that uses the very real magic of the Goddess Hekate. Cyndi Brannen’s insights are linked to both her degrees in psychology and her progressive approach to witchcraft. But you do real work on yourself throughout. You must account for everything within your own self observation ritual journal. The keepers of her keys make up anybody who accepts Hekate’s help and devotes the hour a day: a time she demands to get you on your path of self growth. Cyndi’s esteemed psychology fieldwork is evident in her methodical approach to this growth. You must accept the year’s commitment and follow lessons running month to month from (ideally from a New Moon). To become solid representatives of Hekate’s virtuous epithets, you have to do real work. Your spells are done in ways familiar but the power behind them is as individualized as you are. To invoke Hekate is to bring her form that makes the most sense to your life experience and your understanding of personal pain. But it truly offers a path to complete a deep transformation in your search for powerful and real magic. If you take Brannen’s guidelines and merge those to your own intentions, you have a Hekate in your corner. You will develop and posses very real and powerful magic.

I love this book. Designed as a home-study course, Keeping Her Keys gives the reader the opportunity to learn about the Modern Hekatean Witchcraft tradition and follow it's chapters as a year and a day learning experience to become a Modern Hekatean Witch. The book is filled with information about Hekate gleaned from both ancient sources and modern unverified personal gnosis, rituals, prayers, and practices to help one grow as a solitary Modern Hekatean witch. While the chapters can be repetitive, I appreciate this as a self-study course which builds upon concepts throughout the book. I would have liked more notations in regard to Hekate's mythology to indicate between ancient sources and the author's UPG.

Having practiced witchcraft in several forms over the last almost 30 years, I am thrilled to find a book that excites me and truly inspires me to delve into a new way of expanding my practice. Keeping Her Keys is not another “How to Wicca” book. While those definitely have their place, it’s refreshing to find something that is fresh, different, complete, welcoming and inclusive. Set up with lessons that will take you through a year and a day to connect with Hekate, this book is set up to be user friendly, easy to read and understand. It combines history with modern imagery and encourages you to follow along while also creating your own prayers and spells as well. I highly recommend for any witch, whether new to magic or an old hand at it. You’ll finish with a much greater understanding of Hekate and those who are devoted to Her.

She knows her work. I’m glad it’s a flexibel path and nothing rigid like many other over-structured paths. The only thing is: get off your arse and do the work. Day to day.

I've been following the author's blog (irregularly) for a while and had great hopes for the book. Now I'm not sure what to make of the book. It contains a lot of useful information but the execution is somewhat lacking. It feels unstructured, bits keep being repeated (same statement in two paragraphs) and in some cases I kept waiting for actual instruction and examples (promised but not delivered in the chapter on divination/tarot for example). Maybe it's just me and my scatterbrain, but the book is just not an easy smooth read. So yeah, some (more) editing would have helped.

Love this book. Easy to follow along. Has helped me along the way ! I have another book by her and recommend getting her books!
