The Snow Leopard Review: another astonishing book from Jackie Morris - Like Lord of the Forest, The Snow Leopard is replete with gorgeous imagery that undulates from page to page, pulling you along its current. The tale is folk-mythic and quasi-poetic, again inspiring a love for nature and the wildlife in a spectacular ecosystem (the Himalayas). My daughter loves the fact that there is a child in the story who becomes friends with one of these big, beautiful cats. This is a book at which to marvel. Review: Incredible art work and lovely story - The art work in this book is magical and inspiring, extremely different from most children's books. The story is simple but evocative of the bond humanity should have with nature. Jackie Morris is incredible. Also the book binding and workmanship is exquisite. These books are meant to last and be past down. My Granddaughter read the story with me.

A Singular Book
A childrens' Book with a little girl as the heroine, that I think even today's little boys should be able to enjoy if they are brought up to be respectful and aware of the power and amazing qualities of their female peers. This is a larger than usual book with unique cover and back that is immediately noticeable and attractive compared even to other beautiful children's books.

Magical and captivating
This story is beautifully illustrated and offers a thoughtful view of life and death. It touches into the cycle of life , showing the bonds that is shared between generations and the caring for the life that surrounds us. This author is insightful and offers a wonderful perspective for a young child, opening the door to questions and sharing one's perspectives to what is important in our lives.

Beautiful Pictures, Creative Story about Spirit and Life
I think this is a beautiful story accompanied with beautiful pictures. Snow leopards are just awesome and I happen to love animals so this book seemed like a good choice. I saw it at the bookstore at the zoo and then read good reviews on Amazon. It is definitely a keeper. The story might be too long for younger readers, but the pictures are so great that you can skip some of the text. You can also add your own if your child is still in preschool (like mine) and might not understand why "soldiers are bad". That is the only part of the story that is a bit much for a younger crowd. The best part is the idea that the snow leopard has a special duty (to protect) and a limited time before it must choose another snow leopard to take it's place. It helps explain (in a magical way) the purpose people and in this case, animals, have on this earth and that there is a connection between them. Very good book.

Beauty and Power of the Natural World
This book is a must for your book shelf, whether you are a cat-lover or not, whether you have children or not, whether you are young or old. In our relentless pursuit of material pleasures and more, more, more, we are becoming increasingly alienated from the power and beauty of the natural world. This book ever so subtly promotes a compassionate relationship with the creatures of this earth, all the while subtly embracing the subject of species endangerment due to global warming. Beautiful illustrations and the language of myth bring the story alive.

The Snow Leopard
This is a cute little story of a snow leopard that took a little girl under her paw when her village was attacked and burned down. The big cat taught the little girl to sing a snow leopard's song. The paintings in this book are breathtakingly beautiful!

The book is Huge. Hard to store away illustrations are beautiful but my child has not asked to pick it back up since we read it the first time.

I bought this for my 7 year old; she loves big cats. It did not disappoint; the tale is simple but magical and the illustrations are just captivating. If you want a book for a present or just to inspire your little ones you could do an awful lot worse. Love it.

I am happy to receive this book, but not happy to see that it has been scratched on the front cover. A partial refund would be appreciated as I would not consider this “brand new” anymore.
