But further consideration of the difficulty and expense of removing the old cans, installing junction boxes and connecting to the old wiring made me pause after these lights arrived. Another measuring determined that the drywall holes were actually 6 7/8 inches. I started checking the ring diameter on much simpler-to-install retrofit products labeled "6 inches" and found some had trim rings that were about 7.4 inches. So I ordered those instead and made a much simpler job of it. It left a bit of paint to touch up around the new rings, but completely covered the hole. I think there would still have been touch up to do if I had gone ahead with these lights, which have a 7.6 inch trim diameter. I'm sharing my experience in case it helps anyone who, like I was, is considering options for old large can light replacement. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Poor quality *by O***9 on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on March 22, 2023* The light and material seem ok. But the spring that holds them in the opening is junk and will break. The transformer box also is very cheap. They work! They are bright!But! They do not have a gaskets, so they do not seal well from the ceiling. Also, they do not come with junction box. Without the junction box, they are fire hazard, and will not pass inspection if you are in construction phase, or trying to sell your home. You might want invest couple of bucks on junction box. Or at least wrap heavily with electrical tape and bury under insulation.EDIT 5/14/2020: I put up the house on the market, and is currently under contract. I had wires covered in electrical tape and buried under the insulations, but the inspector dug them out and checked. The inspection failed as fire hazard, and I am now required to have a licensed electrician to go back in the attic and install junction boxes on all 24 lights, that cost $950.
