You also need to have a really good idea of what you're doing or you can actually permanently seize up a lock. If you have an old lock to practice on. The best advice I can give is to remember, to remove the cylinder, put the key in and turn it a fraction of a turn (say 30-45 degrees) or else the pins will set into the wrong spots and lock it up. If this happens, the moment the pin/spring pops out, STOP PUSHING. The shape isn't exactly identical to the Schlage pins, but it doesn't seem to make a difference in key insertion or lock operation. The pins come in individually labeled bags. Given how infrequently I use this kit, I actually prefer the small bags over the organizer boxes that come with the more expensive kits.
