Fine Tool, Get the Expanded Kit.
DIY'er, about 60 handles in the new house. I've used other jigs in previous little projects, this one works much better than those imo. First, the amount of thinking put into the design of this tool makes it worth its price. Very nice build, easy to read, well-thought out. Functionally, couldn't be easier to use once set up. The kit comes in a cheap box but works well. The tool does take some practice and testing. The main stop on mine was not true when tightened down. The tightening screw on this slide is off from center, which puts a twist when tightened. There are two set screws which need to be adjusted before going crazy drilling holes. I set a small speed square against the edges and got it pretty darn close. I would check squareness of tool after every few holes, and of course after adjusting for the next handle or door size. My handles were a bunch of different sizes for each different door. I set up the tool for size #1, marked each drawer/door to drill, then just drilled all that size. Then, set up the tool for size #2, do all the doors of that size. Once set, drilling holes is super quick. My first time using the tool I did 21 (4 different sizes, from 3" to 12") handles in 3 hours. My next dozen doors (next day) took about 30 minutes. If you have any handle greater than 7" on a cabinet door, or 11" on drawer, you will need the extended rulers. If you are gonna get this tool then you are likely not one to mess around. Get the expanded kit from the get go and don't get caught shorthanded. The expansion kit is more expensive later. I was able to do a 12" handle for a drawer front by offsetting the center mark then flipping the tool for each hole. But for handles on the doors I had to get the extensions. Overall a great tool for my collection, and worth more than its selling price for sure. (Handles in picture are also from Amazon, Koofizo brand, awesome handles).

Excellent--highly recommended.
I bought this jig after using handmade jigs that I would make as necessary. They were made in the field, and sometimes were slightly off by 1mm or so. On a large handle, or row of cabinets, that can be very noticeable. Now with this jig, drilling for handles is DEAD ON ACCURATE EVERY SINGLE TIME. This jig is solid and extremely well built. The box doubles as a cardboard carrying case so it sits on the shelf in my truck rather than bouncing around in the toolbox. (The box will eventually need to be replaced--it's not a hard case, unfortunately). The options are endless with this jig. It is a bit pricey, but you will not regret it. I have also purchased the line boring extensions (you can buy the whole thing as the TP-1935 kit). I look forward to using those for drilling holes for those custom jobs that hard to program on the CNC. UPDATE: After purchasing the add-on line boring extensions, I still can say this is a VERY well built, well put together jig. They all fit in one case which is nice. The line boring extensions are very well built with nice bushings. All in all it is an EXCELLENT purchase. The precision of the markings on the jig is dead on accurate and very easy to line up and set with the set screws. A few comments: When using the line boring extensions: Start by registering one end of the extensions overlapping with an existing hole, if possible. Put a drill bit in there to hold it. I found that there is some flex over the length of the entire jig, so measure the distance perfectly and drill one hole on the other end and put in a drill bit or 5mm peg to hold it. Then drill the bulk of the holes. Otherwise, you may be off by 2-3mm which is more than enough to throw things off. The drill stop collar that is included with the drill bits is junk. Throw it away and get a decent set of drill stops for controlling the depth of the drill. I purchased these and i am happy with them: General Tools & Instruments S838 6 Piece 3/16-Inch to 1/2-Inch Drill Stop Assortment I wasn't very impressed with the included drill bits either. I was drilling melamine and they had some tear out. I found putting a strip of blue painters tape under the jig helps. And apply pressure to the jig where you are drilling. That should help with tear out. Same on the back side, if you are drilling holes all the way through the material.

Top-end piece of equipment!
OMG! This thing is a laboratory-grade piece of gear!! Is it expensive? Yes. Is it worth it? Absolutely!!! I’m a basement/kitchen/bath remodeler for a living so it put in a several dozen cabinets every year. I should have bought this years ago. If you install bath or kitchen cabinets on a semi-regular to full-time basis, this tool will pay for itself quickly. And it’s so easy to use that it will save you tons of time (and time = money)! Don’t waste your money on the cheap crap from the big box stores. This tool is ROCK SOLID and will last a lifetime! Even the case is heavy duty, with metal latches and space for the extensions should you need them. It even comes with a quality drill bit. But this comes with everything else you need for 99.99% of the cabinet hardware out there, except of course a drill! UPDATE: I’ve been using this jig for months now and I want to change my original rating from 5 stars to TWENTY STARS! (But of course Amazon won’t let me!) Very precision device and very easy to use. My co-workers are no longer laughing at me for spending so much on it and now frequently ask to borrow it! If you regularly install cabinet pulls, you need this. It will save time and make you look like a PROFESSIONAL!

Excellent tool - versatile - well made
Excellent, well manufactured product with clear, easy to follow instructions. I consistently drilled straight, accurate measured parallel holes for long pulls quickly. Made installing crystal knobs in the exact right place a breeze. Take the time to set the hole guides where they should be for any size pull, lock the placement with machined precision and it’s an excellent tool. Yes, it’s more $ than the plastic guides but if you want first-time, no mistakes high end results quickly this durable tool is the unit. And, its machined in the US. BTW, I paid full price for it. Perhaps not required for shorter cabinet pulls where being off plumb is not going to create an issue, but this is a superb product for accuracy and speed of install. I had to install some long pulls with narrow bases ( Alno A419-6-CHBRZ) on 42” painted cabinets. If the install is was off plumb on side by side by side doors or the pulls did not exactly match height it will be noticeable. With the A419s there is essentially no room for error. The base, where it touches the cabinet, is VERY narrow. Those how to videos that say use a bigger hole size to allow wiggle and adjustment would cause a hole that will be seen, especially as the handle shifts in daily use. Back to the unit, it even comes with a quality 5mm drill that fits the machined guides perfectly. The 5mm will be fine for most applications. But if you want finer precision, as I did for A419s, I used the tip of a 5mm bad point bit to lightly mark exact hole center. Removed the guide and used a 5/32 brad point for the actual screw hole. My old Ryobi 18V has a fairly accurate bubble level to guide level and by looking down on the drill I could keep the hole darn near exactly 90 degrees. With the holes marked exactly where there should be on all the doors and drawers, and tightly holding narrow bases with no slop, its quality. Summary: great tool – machined and marked well. Produces accurate results with any size pulls over and over quickly.

Fantastic piece of equipment!! Worth every penny.
I just left a one-star review for a Kreg jig, so I thought I should focus on the positive of this jig which I bought when the Kreg failed. I don't expect a $25 jig to work like a $180 jig, but the TP Tools jig is a work of art. Is it pricey? Yes. But the bottom line is that it's a complete rock and after familiarizing myself with it, I was able to install an entire kitchen's worth of hardware...about 70 pieces...in about 2 hours. My door handles were centered inside the frame with about 1/8" in either side. Any off measurement would be readily apparent. This jig really delivered and let me complete my job with complete confidence. Once set, the jig can be flipped over so that all doors can be drilled with the same template. There was no play in any of the moving parts and the slightest amount of error I could see in the mounting was due to milling variation in the doors, not the jig. Can't praise this tool enough. The one change I could see that would make this absolutely perfect would be to build one arm 12" long so that base drawers could take advantage of the stop. As it is, the jig needs to be manually centered for drawers.

Easy to use for weekend DIYer (like myself). Professional results
With no prior experience, I mounted 19 pulls on our new wet bar using this jig. With this jig you get precise, repeatable holes with little effort -- other than setting the jig up at the beginning. The jig is light enough to hold in one hand with a portable drill in the other hand. Yet it's machined carefully: when the settings are tightened into place, it stays in place. Outstanding product and worth every penny. Amazon now has overnight shipping and I got the product at my door in less than 24 hrs.

Works as advertised but slightly off center
I agree with many of the other reviewers that this tool is expensive. However, I bit the bullet and used this tool to drill holes to install 50+ cabinet pulls. I didn’t want to make the expensive mistake of ruining thousands of dollars worth of cabinet doors. Two features I would improve about this tool: 1) The horizontal alignment of the jig seems to be off by 1-2mm. When I drill holes in a cabinet door with the handle installed on the left hand side (measurement markings on the tool facing me) then no problem. The holes are perfectly centered where I want them to be. When I drill holes on the adjacent cabinet door with the handle installed on the right hand side (measurement markings on the tool facing the door), then the holes are slightly off center by 1-2mm. This may not matter to a casual observer, but I know that the holes are off center by a little bit. 2) I used a plastic clamp and a piece of folded cardboard underneath the “T” to support the tool against the cabinet door. Placing a piece of metal on each side of the “T” may be a good idea to improve this tool. This would make the “T” the same width as the adjustable jigs. I placed my clamp right on top of the “T” with the cardboard underneath. Other useful hints: 1) Make sure to use a drill with a bubble level so that your hole is straight in a vertical orientation. 2) Make sure to pay attention that your drill bit is placed at 90 degrees to the face of the cabinet door, otherwise your holes will not be straight in a horizontal orientation. 3) Use a clamp and a piece of folded cardboard underneath the “T” to support the tool against the cabinet door. 4) This jig is good, but it still will not save you from making careless mistakes. It is only a guide for the drill bit. Would I buy this tool again? Sure. It is obvious that the tool manufacturer reads these reviews, because I received a version of the tool that was slightly different than what was described in earlier reviews. My tool came with adjustable screw knobs instead of the Allen wrench screws that everyone else complained about.

Made in USA means something again
Hi - great product! - I'm a professional installer of kitchens so this tool is getting used. I lost confidence in "made in USA" for many years as it usually meant a cheap import that was rebranded in the USA. I still have the original Sands Level I bought that said this level "tells the truth" and "made in USA" - all my other levels have been tossed over the years except this one ... I am thinking your tool is going to have the same story as from what I can see to date the same quality and craftsmanship is in your product! Great Job and thanks from Canada Eh! :)
