The price was much cheaper than the others and decided give it a try, thinking what to lose since it's so cheap. Amazon delivered last night and I have been playing it this morning. There're two major complaints from other products, one is weak magnetic base, the other is poor consistancy. From my testing, this product has three magnetic botton at the base, and they combined for a strong attachemt to steel. It is pretty consistant, I calibrated on a surface, removed it and then put it back, it gave me the same reading, however, it seemed to me took a little long. I have never used other product, so no sure how it compares to the others. It looked great with zinc alloy case. Overall, I'm happy with it, let's how long it last.Pro:String magnetismConsistant readingZinc alloy caseCame with a carrying bagCon:It took a little long to settle for the reading (see attached vide)Poorly written user manual ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Came with accurate calibration, strong magnet *by C*** on November 21, 2018* This is going in my husband's stocking. I tested the calibration it came with and it was pretty accurate, as you can see in my pics. The magnet is strong. I hung it on the fridge to test it. My husband is going to love it! ### ⭐ Won't Measure 90 Degrees *by L***Y on December 25, 2018* Short answer is - This tool is essentially useless for setting up tools in the shop. Here's why -1) EXTREMELY long (about 2 seconds) refresh time. Move the assembly, wait two seconds, note reading, move again etc.2) Resolution is way OVER 1 degree. I slipped shims under the edge of the thing till it changed readings. It began changing display at about 1.6 degrees. ie if it starts on zero, the smallest movement I could measure was 1.6 degrees. FAR from that 0.1 degree resolution they advertise.3) WON'T MEASURE 90 DEGREES - This is the deal killer for me. Can't measure a drill press or saw or anything for square. The thing measures to 89 degrees and then "flips over" to reading from the other side. Next reading is 89 degrees on the other side. It literally won't read a 1-2-3 block or a machinist's square.I suppose it might be "helpful" for hanging pictures or some other non-shop use.
