Read it first and gave it to their mom to read first also. The book has pretty good reflective writing activities for kids to help them work through various divorce challenges like anger, blaming and sadness, however it is really aimed at kids whose father is not in the picture. I don't think it is as applicable to kids who have both parents available and nearby, but do not get along. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ What did I do wrong? *by S***Y on Reviewed in the United States on August 23, 2014* This is an excellent book for anyone whose parents are separated or divorced. This is becoming the "norm", and the loss of a real family life is a tragedy. I bought this book for a teenager who is really struggling in her relationship with her father. I read it and found myself described in different parts of the book. I, too, was from a divorced family, although my mother remarried. While we think we can understand circumstances others have been through that we haven't experienced, we really can't. This was the primary reason I went in search of a book that could help a teenager see that her feelings and reactions were a result of divorce. Children innately know that they need their parents to survive. They adopt behaviors to help insure their survival. These aren't beneficial behaviors, but our young minds think we need them. Maybe most people grow out of those behaviors without knowing that someone else has experienced a similar situation. For me, it took books like this and group therapy to realize that survival was controlling me. I learned this in my thirties. I wish I had learned them as a teen. While God doesn't seem to be very popular these days, the author does include God and a teen's relationship to God in the book. Do we blame God or do we turn to God? I applaud the author for including the Creator in this book. It isn't the focus of the book, but the topic is sufficiently addressed. Thank you Lynn Cassella-Kapusinski for writing this book.
