Great value for the price.
This is my first camera of this type. I bike, kayak and off-road, so this camera will definitely come in handy. There was no way I was paying GoPro prices as I will only use the camera for personal use on a limited basis. My first impression of the camera is very positive. It has plenty of features and the image quality is very good, in bright light. The kit comes with a lot of good accessories. I already have a mini tri-pod for my webcam that I can use, but it would be nice if it came with a mini tripod. With the money saved buying this camera, there are plenty of options for accessories, including extra batteries. I purchased a 128 GB mini-SD card even though the manual lists 32 & 64 GB cards are compatible. The camera recognized it and formatted it without issue. The 128 GB card allows for about 4 hours of video at 4k30fps. The not so great - the camera is only so so in low light situations. I don't plan to use it often in those situations and I knew this before purchasing. So not a deal breaker. One issue that is a pain, on one kayaking trip where temps were in the upper 90s, the camera shutdown because it got too hot. Understandable, but the only way to get it to come back on after it cooled down was to remove the battery and miniSD card and hook up a USB cable with 5 Watts and 2 Amps power source. The camera came right on and I was able to reinstall the battery and miniSD card. Although also not a deal breaker, I need to remember to bring a portable charge that can charge at those specs in case the camera overheats again. All in all, it is a great buy. It was priced at $140, but has a $25 off coupon when I bought it. It's a really nice camera that really captures the great moments when our in nature.

Amazing picture quality and value
I will start by saying that this V50 elite is not my first action camera from Akaso. I really enjoyed the V50 pro, and did not think Akaso would come out with a better value. I was wrong. The V50 Elite is everything I loved about the V50 Pro, plus a slough of other settings, digital zoom, and 4K60FPS. I repeat 4K60FPS for a fraction of the price of other popular action cameras. It comes with a boat load of accessories, and did I mention 4K60FPS. I mean come onnn. The resolution is exquisite, and it is durable. I have put this little camera through its paces, and it does everything Akaso promised and then some. Very intuitive software, and the touch screen responds so much better than previous models. I love the button layout. It makes it super simple to adjust the camera without taking it out of the waterproof case. All of my accessories I own for the V50 pro work flawlessly on this camera minus the water proof case. (Different shape) I would also like to note that I contacted Akaso, and their customer service was insanely good. Super fast reply, and follow up which made me more comfortable purchasing future cameras or accessories. All around this camera is a WIN. If you are looking for a well rounded, great camera, with amazing picture quality that is super simple to use, then you’ve found it. I would love to test other more expensive cameras picture quality with the Elite. It would give them a run for their money. Super happy with my purchase.

This is THE BEST action cam, irrelevant of $, with some minor issues.
Want to give it 5 stars. I'm doing an upside down mounted camera under my bike seat on my electric "ebimotorcycle" contraption that goes 70ish and is costing around $10K now. This thing has everything, it's insane. I thoroughly compared this to a Hero 9 black, and unless you really want a gopro and its ecosystem, this is the better camera, at least for specific uses, all of these action cameras work differently. This one works better than the hero 9, with fewer but good options. I thought what I did may be helpful to people so I came back around half a year after purchase to leave a review and also a quick "how to" to help out anyone trying to do something similar. This solution is the result of at least 15hrs of playing with various adapters, cards, cables, etc, which I also had to buy for this purpose, costing me around $400 to figure out what only took about $100 then send everything else back with wonderful ole amazon prime. Anyway, I decided to do a rear 4k facing camera that displayed to a 4k screen mounted on the handle bars of my bike, with a wide field of view like 165-175 degrees, as a complete view behind me along with side mirrors. engineering constraints: I wanted the largest screen which made the most sense for spacing and I wanted full 4k from camera to screen with no compression or conversions and the camera was to be mounted under the seat using the framing of the seat and a "bike seat gopro mount," which meant it was upside down which introduces a problem with image rotation. NONE of the available action cams, in early '21 anyway, can live stream anything beyond 1080p over WIFI, so just know that is out. The hero 9 does not have HDMI out, this cam does. hero9, you have to use gopro's media mod if you want HDMI, and you can't use a usbc to HDMI cable or adapter, they block it. with the media mod and HDMI hooked up, you have to click 5-6 times on the camera to display a clean view HDMI signal, which is fine if you're occasionally setting it up, but I want it to work at power on. This v50 elite with HDMI and micro usb connected, it automatically powers on when power is applied to the usb cable I leave plugged in, like I want, and it AUTOMATICALLY displays a clean view HDMI signal when it detects the cable. I then feed that 4k 60fps hdmi into a "cam link 4k capture card", then with a usbA3.0 to usbA3.0 cable into an OTG to usbc cable, then into a Sony Xperia 1 which has a 6.5" 4k width screen, it does sacrifice height for size and in a rear view case, height isn't important. it doesn't matter anyway because the app takes care of that. That phone is the only 4k screen under 11", in addition to the xperia xz premium which is true 4k but a smaller screen and more bezel, so worse for my use. i also bought both phones to test for this. these are both "mark i" phones the "mark ii" versions are being release this year, but are not necessary when you just need the screen, but also get the entire phone. using this v50 elite, a 4k60hz capable micro hdmi to hdmi cable, 4k60hz capable capture card, 4k60hz capable male usbA3.0 to usbA3.0 cable, AND a 4k60hz capable OTG adapter along with an app called "endoscope HD camera," "OTG Camera" once its installed, and the following slight modification, and you get automatic, full clean view 4k. This may be for my capture card, not all: The only bit of additional work that is required for a fully automated setup, is that you have to use that usb cable to plug the capture card to the OTG adapter instead of directly plugging them in so that you can splice the wire casing open and cut the red wire. Then you need to build a simple "555 timer delay circuit," which costs about $2 for all parts and takes all of 3mins to assemble, and attach it between those cut red wires. without using the cable, there is no way to splice that voltage trace to delay the power getting to the capture card by 1-3 seconds, so the camera has tome to boot. i found this stuff has to happen in an order to work properly. adding a small delay to the capture card starting up prevents that. anyway, to summarize: 1) v50 elite on updated firmware from emailing Akaso -leave battery in because will not auto power on with DC power on, without battery. usb connected to switched power -mirco hdmi to hdmi plugged into capture card 2) cam link 4k capture card -off brand is 20 on amazon prime, brand name is 110. both are size of large jump drives -(possibly, see below) needs usb cable for OTG connection with 555 timer delay powering capture card 3) android OTG adapter with USBA for data and USBC for charging. "Type C USB OTG Cable" will charge your phone and also run capture card, just may need timing delay. 4) "endoscope hd camera" app. name is OTG camera once installed. loads camera quickly, automatically loads to clean view and supports 4k 30fps, don't know if it goes higher but that's all I'm allowed, may be limited by phone. automatically zooms to fill the screen and can easily zoom out to full 4k view. i LOVE that its default is exactly what i need. 5) pre-hookup usb and HDMI to camera, HDMI to capture card, OTG into phone, power into OTG cable. turn on camera, give it 4 seconds, plug in capture card to OTG, open app. 4k60 displayed at 4k30 or you can use 4k30 with image stabilization but that's up to you, I like having the extra frames to prevent skipping when the 30hz source and 30hz monitors frames don't line up in time. 6) install screen rotation app that lets me flip the video to the correct orientation since I mounted the camera upside down.
