Preliminary - Very Good Knife for its Purpose
Preliminary Review - I just recently purchased this knife for one of my sons from knife maker Ray Ennis at a display in our vicinity. The review is preliminary and the rating 4 stars ONLY because I have not had the chance yet to use the knife. Even without using this knife it is clearly well designed and very well crafted for its purpose as a backup utility knife. The feel and fit of the knife are excellent as is the craftsmanship in turning 440 c steel and micarta into a tool that one is anxious to use. The fitting of handle scales to the handle portion of the tang is excellent. The handle scales curve and swell to fill hand of the user, providing excellent comfort and control. The blade is under 4 inches long and less than 1 inch wide, with a clip point and hollow grind. The 3/16 inch steel gives even this smaller blade very good weight. The jimping on the spine of the blade is aggressive and should provide additional control when necessary. The spine edges are a sharp 90 degrees and should have no trouble scraping wood shavings and bark.Overall excellent knife that I look forward to using soon. Should serve well as an EDC.
