I like the thought of doing my part in saving energy

just what i needed.

This bulb seems to last longer than Sylvania or other brands I've tried that failed in a year or two. Since starting to replace them with this GE bulb a couple of years ago I have had no failures with them.

I bought a pack of four bulbs from Amazon, installed them all, and found one to be defective (flickered) from the get-go. I returned the 4-pack. Not many reviews indicated trouble, so I figured this bulb was an outlier, and took a new 4-pack rather than a refund because of course I needed the four bulbs now. In the SECOND 4-pack, again one bulb was defective (went dark) after a couple of weeks. I haven't tried the other bulbs, because I wouldn't keep them and absorb the loss in any case, as doing so would increase the unit price by 33%.Many people receive a defective item from time to time, even if the deficiency rate is 1 in, say, 1,000, or 1 in 250 4-packs. But for someone to receive two defectives in as many 4-packs suggests a very substantial rate of factory defects. The only thing that will keep me buying these from Amazon is their return policy – the nearest UPS is closer than the nearest Home Depot!

These bulbs are excellent, and last about 3 years flat. Right at the 3 year mark two of my 5 blew within days

bulb only lasted a week

I bought several of these lights to replace a number of halogen bulbs in my home, which were wasting a ton of energy by putting out a lot of heat - which is not particularly welcome during a hot summer!These bulbs are a great replacement, as you might expect from LEDs, they remain cool to the touch, without any buzzing or electrical noise. The color is a really nice warm yellow, and the brightness is far beyond that of the halogen bulbs they were replacing.The only slight downside is that they protrude a little more from the socket (which is likely more due to the sockets than the bulbs) than the halogen bulbs, but this is totally acceptable for a far superior product!Energy efficient, bright & great color - highly recommended!
