Blue Sea Systems 9003e Battery Disconnect Switch On/Off Type
The Blue Sea Systems 9003e battery disconnect switch is very high quality with a solid feel and tough plastic housing. I ordered this switch for my electric golf cart. The voltage rating of the switch exactly matches my 48 volt system and far above the 200 amp maximum of the golf cart. I don't expect to be switching off the power while current is flowing, but good to know that the switch is capable of handling anything that the golf cart can produce. I mounted the switch from the rear with only the round face exposed for a more professional look; The minimum hole size is 3 5/8" to accept the round part of the switch; had to borrow this large size hole saw from a contractor. The studs on the back are 3/8" diameter and easy to access. The only thing that could be better is if it came with a non-metallic cover plate for the back to protect against accidental contact with the studs; This is not an issue for those who are surface mounting the switch. All golf carts should come with a maintenance switch like this. I can now be assured that there are no parasitic current draws on the battery pack when not in use. You just have to remember to turn it back on when charging or when you want to use the cart!

Solid switch. If mounting like in the photo I posted, buy 3 5/8 inch hole saw
As stated, you need a 3 5/8 inch hole saw to lake this a perfect flush mount. I read somewhere to "use a 3.5 inch hole saw, then use a rotary tool to finish the hole". That's pure garbage. It'll only booger up your hole. The switch itself is solid and well built. I'm using it on my overlanding solar array with two LiFePO4 230ah batteries and a 3000 watt inverter. The switch will be used to disconnect the house batteries from the alternator when I need everything my alternator can throw out when using my 12,000 lb winch.

Bow Thruster Shut-off
Using this for an emergency shut off for my Side-Power SE60 bow thruster. Works great and a much more affordable option that factory original.

Solved battery trickle problem, strong with nice flush mount
The switch was a breeze to install, feels very solid, and I expect it to last a long time. I'm sure this is a little over-kill for my single marine battery, but I'm willing to pay an extra twenty bucks for peace of mind. This switch has a very high threshold for the load of amps that occur upon starting the engine, and it's size and weight imply that I won't be replacing it any time soon. The ability to flush-mount it worked great and keeps it looking professional. Regarding my specific setup: I have a standard marine battery running to a 120hp Yamaha outboard. For the last couple seasons I have had an issue with the battery dying if I didn't use the boat for several weeks. Physically disconnecting the battery terminals after using the boat solved the problem, but it wasn't the most user-friendly solution for the rest of the family. The issue suggests a larger trickle from the battery than there should be, but it's not worth my time or money to figure out what device is pulling current even when the key is off. So the solution was to get a simple switch that does the same thing as physically disconnecting from the terminals. It's worked great so far; no battery drain after leaving the boat for a month. Originally I intended to mount it below the dashboard, but I ended up taking more simple route and mounted it closer to the battery in one of the compartments under a back seat. I used a 3 5/8" hole saw to cut through the plastic wall of the seat, about halfway up from the floor. Then I pushed the switch into the hole, marked the four locations of the bolts, drilled four small holes, and mounted the switch with four nuts and bolts. NOTE, I needed the following extra materials to install the switch: 1. 3 5/8" hole saw (not needed unless flush-mounting, and you could use a different tool too) 2. Four bolts and nuts (at least 3.5" in length, I forget the diameter) 3. Wire and crimp-connectors to extend the wire from the battery to where I mounted the switch, remember that you only need to extend the positive (+) cable to the switch)

Quality
Appears to be well made but too large for the location I wanted to install it.

Should have went with top quality the first time
I tried to get off easy going cheap with a knockoff version of a battery shut off switch. Well , that switch lasted all of 3 weeks and 4 turns and it failed. Power to troller whether it was on or off. I bypassed the switch and all was fine.i already had a blue seas switch for my main system so I went right back and grabbed this switch for the troller.its heavy duty ..made for flush mount or outside mount. The switch is heavy duty inside and out. Opened my hole through the carpeted wall ..fit this in ..used my own hardware and wired it in. Works perfectly.blue seas rocks 10 stars

ALL NEW BOATS NEED THESE
ALL OLD BOATS don't have these, all new boats need them. Batteries on ALL boats leak energy due to poor grounds that develop over time. Most boats sit with their batteries in them all year, mainly in environments of hot/cold/cold/hot - draining battery energy all year round. The battery switch eliminates energy leakage. When done using the boat, turn the switch off, until the next time. Recharge. Mice/rats eat wiring - best bet is that when there is electricity in the line they 'go for it.' BUY THESE - PUT ONE ON PER BATTERY. GREAT FOR HOT ROD APPLICATIONS AS WELL.... as they suffer from endless wiring problems.

Quality Item, but expensive for what it is. Bolts require 10mm Cable Lugs for attachment.

Provato con corrente di 100A e non diventa neanche tiepido. E' tutta un'altra cosa dagli stacca batteria cinesi. Anche le dimensioni sono monto abbondanti. Ottimo

Bought this for our self built camper to replace one of the cheap power switches that are all too common on Amazon. The old one was getting extremely hot even though it was operating well below its rates current, hot enough that what alerted us to it was the smell, it had only been installed for a couple of days. You get what you pay for, the quality of this switch is great, handles higher currents than the last one without even getting warm. I'm confident this one is actually rated for the current it states. Easy to install, works great. The old one was dangerous. Don't buy the the cheap Chinese ones, they're dangerous & a false economy. Spend the money, buy one of these. It's not worth the risk of an electrical fire. We've been living in our van full time for a year & a half & we've never had an issue with this switch with it regularly handling 165A when running an air fryer on our 12V leisure battery.
