DPMS Full Auto SBR CO2-Powered BB Air Gun with Dual Action Capability

I've had this rifle for abt 2 weeks. After reading tons of reviews and getting some serious trigger time myself, I've come up with the following observations/recommendations: Feels very real in your hands. Flip up sights are cheap junk and really don't look like they belong on such a great looking rifle. Crossman should really pony up and put some decent flip-up iron sights on this thing. How much could it cost at such volumes? Anyway, I took them off and replaced with cheap red/green dot scope before the first loading. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019MN7N5U/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 After handling his rifle for a few hours now I believe it would be excellent for introduction training for a real AR. All controls work very close to a real AR (except fwd assist which rarely gets used anyway). Trigger is a bit stiff and appears to behave like a 2-stage trigger. At abt 90% of trigger force applied, there's a faint click, then a bit more squeeze and it fires. Not sure if this was an intentional feature but it's very consistent and I like it. At 30 ft, with fresh co2, I'm grouping 25 rnds within an inch in semi-auto (with a rest). Holds elevation pretty well for first 6 mags. Elevation drops 2-3 inches @ 30 ft. on last (7th) mag. When co2 gets low, rifle occasionally does some weird stuff like double firing or dry firing. When co2 gets really low, you have to use the charge lever between shots, but by then it's time to replaced co2 anyway. From what I've heard, to extend the life of the rifle, you shouldn't run full auto with fresh co2 cyls or near empty ones either. Shoot the first mag in semi-auto then switch to full-auto for a couple of mags, then back to semi-auto until co2 is gone. Also, not too much full auto until you have a few hounded rnds thru it. Seems like good advice since moving parts need to wear-in. First 1500 BBs were Hornady Black Diamond since I heard they load easier (and they are). Speed loader takes a little getting used to, but after you get the hang of it, it's great. I spray a little Rem oil in the loader, load it between 1/2 and 3/4 full then another quick spray of oil. Then shake it to distribute the oil around. Switched to Daisy zinc coated BB's since local store was out of Hornady's. They are a little more difficult to load but so far no issues with first 1000 rounds. Daisy grouped as well as the Hornady's. When speed loader plunger jams, don't force it. Just flip it upside down (while still connected to mag) and gently work the plunger until it un-jams, then flip it back upright and continue. At first it didn't seem to shoot more than abt 75-100 rnds before running out of co2 (semi-auto only). When removing right (secondary) cylinder, a LOT of co2 escaped. Inspected piercing pin and it looked OK. Next time removing co2 cylinders, I loosened the right cyl very very slowly. Noticed after abt 1/4 turn loosening, the right cyl got cold but wasn't leaking. I was then able to fire another 75 or so rnds. Next time I loaded 2 new cyls, I tightened the left cyl normally. On the right cyl, I tightened until it was abt as tight as I could get it with the supplied wrench, then backed it off exactly 1/4 turn. Now it works as it should. I've ran 6 cyls thru it this way and so far so good. There's something odd going on inside the mag that makes the right cylinder not flow if cyl is screwed on really tight but this appears to be a good work-around so far. Microscopic manual says to oil after ~1000 rnds. That's what I did. Maybe Crossman wants to parts to wear-in before oiling?? I applied pelgunoil to the co2 tips and everything else that moves including the seal. Feels significantly smoother now. I've heard pelgunoil is actually non-detergent ATF. When the pelgunoil tube runs out, I'll probably refill it with ATF and keep rolling. EDIT: After a hit more research, looks like silicone oil is supposed to be used on the green seal, in the cyl where green seal slides into and on the seal at output of the magazine. I'll be switching over to silicone oil for these parts. Still using pelgunoil for tips of co2 cyls. IMHO, this was a steal at $145. Even at $180 it's still a bargain. I've had a lot of fun with it and actually feel I'm improving my target acquisition time and muscle memory. Hats off to DPMS/Panther Arms/Crossman for releasing such a BB gun.

Being 56 yrs old, I wish I had it as a kid when I was shooting BB guns a lot! I bought this to get rid of rats in the shed. But they have vacated before I got the gun.. (They must have known) Anyway, I watched a ton of YouTube videos on this before I ordered it. Do your homework on this and anything else you order, it helps. Now to the product: The shipping was a day early :). The box was in another brown box, concealed. It was not damaged. :) The rifle comes as described, it very fun! Pretty accurate, and light. Now, for you who wonder of it's size, I placed it on and next to my real AR-15 and they are the same size! The charging handle doesn't go as far back as a real one, just noting it. The safety / fire select is the same as the AR-15 and works well with 3 positions S-F-A (Safe-Fire-Auto) The Mag release is the same as the AR-15 and works well. The flip-up sights are plastic, but work, has adjustable rear. The stock is unique, not changeable, and nothing like any real ones I have seen, but it is solid! The Hand grip is replaceable with any AR-15 ones out there. The angled fore-grip is not removable. You are stuck with that, and there is little room to add a "broomstick" handle. I like the one they have on there. It is comfy. The quad rail allows for lights, optics, laser, etc. So, go for it! Why not!? It's fun alright! I read and saw on videos that the gun is picky when it comes to ammo. And yes, The gun open up, and the upper and lower can be separated just like the AR-15 via the take-down pins! Fun! Great for training! Be careful when opening it, the bolt section can fall out. do this over a bench first to see how it works. You will need to do this to oil it anyway. The dust cover operates like the AR-15, and closes too. The Bolt remains open after the last BB fires. You won't waste a "C02" blast, and the Bolt catch/release latch on the left side operates just like the AR-15 as well. They put a lot of thought into the design to be like an actual AR-15 that You can use this as a training piece instead of a real one. Recommendations: Only use Crossman Copperhead BBs to avoid problems! ( I ran 6 mags through it without any problems.) Only use the 12-gram Crossman Co2 cartridges, others may be a bargain, but they can have dirty air which may foul up the air system. Buy PELLGUN OIL and apply before first use! - Most folks buy a BB-gun and forget this important step! Especially note this on an auto, YOU NEED the OIL! It will work for a bit without oil, then will begin to fail due to the lack of lubricant! Put a drop of oil on the top of each Co2 tank before inserting to magazine! (each time) LEFT SIDE cartridge goes in first! Tighten it a bit, then insert the right side. The valves work in this manner, or else you will lose a bunch of air from the right side if it is inserted first. So read the Manual. Well, that print is quite small, download the PDF and read it on your screen :) Also, follow the instructions for the oil placement on the bolt, hammer, etc. VERY IMPORTANT. It will last a lot longer if you use the oil as directed. Get it on Amazon. you can use any %100 silicone oil if you wish. A tip, DO NOT let the magazine fall to the ground when released! It is heavy! And is the heart of the Gun, if that breaks, no shooting! (Until you order another mag) Extra MAGS are available, but they are around $65.00 each! The power of the gun is surprising. Be very careful with it as it is NOT A TOY! Not for unsupervised children to "play" with! It shoots very very fast! The 25 rounds which the mag holds will go in 2.2 seconds at a rate of 1400 rounds a minute. Not the same as the real thing, it is much faster than the real ones. So,shoot in single-shot mode. Yeah,that'll save BBS re-loads... But.. IT"S AN AUTO! Full-Auto is more fun! As with all BB-guns, WEAR SAFETY GLASSES! Do not skip this! You'll shoot your eye out! BBs don't always penetrate, in fact, most don't, and just ricochet back at the shooter! SAFETY glasses are a must! Please get some! and use them when using this and any other BB-pellet gun! You want to keep your eyes, to be able to shoot more, right ?

Great buy for the price looks very good build it feels good in hands very easy to load and use. The size it the perfect fit. Good accuracy and easy to adjust sites

The full auto mode is a hoot. The most fun I've ever had shooting a bb gun. This gun looks and feels like the real thing. The only complaint I have is that the sights suck. I set up a target at 20 yards and was able to get the windage centered easily but there's no adjustment for elevation so the best I could get it is still about 7 inches low. In order to get the bulls eye I have to aim 7 inches above what I am shooting at. I'm going to fix that by tossing the flip up sights in the trash where they belong and replace them with a red dot sight on top for daylight and a laser sight on the side for night time. The magazine kinda sucks too. It works but the cover is sometimes difficult to snap back into place and if you're not paying attention while using a sling to carry it on your shoulder and it rubs against your body while walking in the woods the cover can get dislodged and you'll find yourself backtracking to find it as happened to me once already. I'm not deducting a star for it though because I'm not sure that it wasn't my own fault for not getting it snapped closed completely in the first place. I still love it though and am very happy with my purchase.

Bought several years ago for my younger cousin. Still works great, and looks cool. His DPMS is fully kitted at this point. Surprisingly accurate and the 1,400rpm is very fun. Only the 25 BB magazine empties in a 10th of a second so prepare to reload a bunch
