I'm having a hard time figuring the size I need for my cables. Approximately, how many cables can you fit in a Techflex 3/4?

I'm using it for automotive applications so I'm repalcing similar sizes.I did a quick test with my computer cables and this is what I could stuff into the 3/4 while retaining a little overlap. power cable(x1), monitor cables(x2), USB(x2), speakr(x2), small flat power cable(x1), printer USB(x1). Total nine cables.Hope that helps.

Will the .75" loom continue to shrink/contract down to a .5" size if the wires inside only need .5" of space? How about1" shrinking to .5" if allowed?

It can shrink down but you will need to zip-tie or tape it to that smaller diameter. It will want to re-expand back to its normal diameter.

Have anyone tryed to use it in automotive setting? Would it be ok to use inside of the engine bay - basically can it withstand heat up to 500F? Thanks

This material is great for automotive application. However, it is a general purpose sleeving that is good around 260 degrees F. Melt temp is at about 400 degrees. It can be used in the engine bay but NOT where it will be subjected to 500 degree heat.

How stiff is it, it would being used for audio video cable on a TV?

Very flexible, actually extremely flexible. This is would work fin to hide gone audio equipment wiring. I am really happy I used it. So much easier to run wires through it then the plastic coil ones
