Nothing beats Hatch green chili for perfect heat and amazing flavor. I lived in New Mexico and used it in everything from green chili stew to meat loaf to banana bread. Moved back to Michigan and was very glad to find that I could get it through Amazon — not cheap, but worth it to me!

I’ve been working on my chili verde recipe for years. This 505 green chili sauce is the best. I’ve used it many times and my chili verde turns out great, lots of compliments and my chili verde is famous among my friends and associates. I haven’t been able to find the large bottles in the stores around me so I got some off Amazon. It was a little pricey but it came in special packaging in just a few days. Give it a try, you’ll love it!

I lived in NM for about 25 years, and now live on the east coast. This brand and configuration is one of the best deals/prices for having Hatch Chile sent to you, IMO. The glass jars are well packed too, in robust wine bottle mailers. I was worried about that, but didn't need to be. Flavor-wise, this is above average roasted green chile. Some of the fresh frozen varieties you can find in NM (especially in the grocery stores in the fall) are better, but when you're not in NM, this is the way to go. Note that it isn't 100% chopped green chile. There is some garlic, salt, and lime juice in there too. But it's like 98% pure. it's not "sauce" with a lot of fillers and/or water like some other brands or varieties. The 40 oz size is a lot to use up at once, but what I've done with the first jar I opened is freeze about 20oz for later use as stew and kept the other 20oz in the fridge for using as a condiment. The jars they sent me don't 'expire' until 2027, which is nice too. If you've been going through green chile withdrawals because you moved away from NM, this is an excellent solution.

Makes great Mexican dishes

The product itself is fantastic. I use it with all sorts of dishes for a nice pop of flavor. My only complaint is the packaging. I had an order of two bottles. One was broken in shipping. I was given a refund, but it did make quite a mess since other items were in the box. Nothing else was ruined, thankfully. But it might be preferable to order it as a single item - maybe the packaging would hold up better. Just a thought.

I love this stuff...just try a little with every bite of chicken breast chunk you eat.
