So happy with Paint Shop Pro 8
I have been using Paint Shop Pro for years and years because it's so much easier to use than other similar products. However, my computer crashed and I lost the older version that I loved - so I was very pleased to see number 8 for sale on Amazon and it's been a blessing for me. Thanks so much!

VIRUS WARNING - Paint Shop Pro 8 carries newly discovered Win32/Rundas!plock virus
I purchased Paint Shop Pro 8 about 6 years ago. Yesterday I installed it on my new desktop PC, and Windows Defender popped up for the first time in my experience and issued a warning: Detected Item: Trojan:Win32/Rundas!plock Alert Level: Severe Date: 6/15/2016 Category: Trojan Description: This program is dangerous and executes commands from an attacker. Recommended action: Remove this software immediately. Items: file:C:\Program Files (x86)\Jasc Software Inc\Paint Shop Pro 8\Learning Center\Product_Tour.exe The Microsoft Malware Center added : First published: May 06, 2016 I suggest you do not buy version 8 of Paint Shop Pro, and that our friends at Amazon pull this item from listings until the computer virus problem has been addressed. It is a shame because PSP is a very good image editor.

Curiosity purchase
While looking at reviews for Corel Paint Shop products, I kept seeing references to the pre-Corel Jasc version. Paint Shop Pro 8 was the final edition before it became a Corel product, so I found a copy of it and installed it on a computer running Corel's X2 for a comparison. It's a very good product, but quite honestly, X2 works better for me. Additionally, I couldn't get Pro 8 to install properly on computers running either Win 7 or XP 64 bit, so it's living on an older machine that has XP Pro and doing just fine. If you have an older computer and do minimal photo editing, this would be an excellent product. For anything more serious, look at Adobe.

Great to program to use for your photo needs
It is not the easiest to navigate around at first, but does a great job for the price for your picture and graphic needs. I recommend this program.
