C.S. Lewis’s dazzling allegory about heaven and hell – and the chasm fixed between them – is one of his most brilliantly imaginative tales, as he takes issue with the ideas in William Blake’s ‘The Marriage of Heaven and Hell’.In a dream, the narrator boards a bus on a drizzly afternoon and embarks on an incredible voyage through Heaven and Hell. He meets a host of supernatural beings far removed from his expectations, from the disgruntled, ghostly inhabitants of Hell to the angels and souls who dwell on the plains of Heaven. This powerful, exquisitely written fantasy is one of C.S. Lewis’s most enduring works of fiction and a profound meditation on good and evil.

A must read
One has to churn your imagination to extract the spiritual lessons but so rich in its details that matches with many concepts coming out of the bible! Mind blowing!!

Hardcover edition is a scam
Nothing bad to say about the author or the contents of the book. However, don't buy the hardbound edition of this book. For one thing, the price of the hardcover copy is not worth the quality of the book you get. I have bought much bigger books with same quality of page and text sold for less than half the price. Moreover, the copy I received was defective and damaged, the page edges were uneven and cover of the book was uneven. Also, the last page, which had writing on both sides, was stuck to the back of the book. Although there is a return option mentioned, when I tried to do so, the only option was to replace. And even the replace order was cancelled and I have still not recieved the refund for this. Very untrustworthy seller.

on of my top 5
I love this book. So thought provoking. CS Lewis has such an incredible imagination. His story highlights how seemingly loving behaviours are not and how we hang onto things in this world that have no value with the eyes of heaven. I highly recommend the book.

Thought Provoking
This book was amazing! The conversations between those in Heaven and those trying to get to Heaven were extremely thought provoking and gave great insight into the things you have to let go, get rid off, kill off, or forgive. I really enjoyed the “fantasy” element and it was really descriptive and laid out two very interesting worlds. This book had me thinking about my own life and the steps I need to take while I’m still alive to achieve a place in Heaven. I highly recommend this book! Great read!

Reaches the depths of your soul, Christian or otherwise
Lewis has his own unique way to portray and render deep matters of the soul to the curious, and to the nonchalant. Using meaningful, but simple symbolism, he makes himself clearly understood without too much work. Towards the end, I ciuld spot verses from Psalm 91 paraphrased, and beautifully tailored to the Lady in question, Sarah Smith, facing full redemption from her earthly oppressor, her partner Frank (who is represented by his two facets on Earth: the Tragedian, and the Dwarf). Many may find themselves in parts of this story, but the soul is eternal, and Lewis taps into it magnificently.A thoroughly recommended read.
