It has very engaging illustrations and mostly clear explanations. It includes a page on wastewater treatment and discusses renewable energy sources. There is a page about natural gas but it is somewhat less clear. The last page is about conserving energy and water at home. My five year old finds this book very interesting though it is a little over his head. Although it is not mentioned in the book, the topic offers an opportunity to discuss people who do not have running water, electricity, and natural gas. My son found that hard to imagine and we discussed how people in other circumstances get water, light, heat, and fire.We own two other books in this series "How Did That Get in My Lunchbox" and "Where Do My Clothes Come From" and they are also excellent. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic book. *by L***C on Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2018* We love every book in this series. Although this is called "How does my HOME work," it is really about household utilities such as water and electricity. My daughter especially likes the sections on water. She's really into learning about how things work. This book is appropriate for ages 3-8.
