Apple Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter

I’ve been using this for a few weeks, and it connects my headphones seamlessly while maintaining full sound quality. It’s small, sturdy, and exactly what I needed for my iPhone. So far, I’ve had no issues—it works perfectly every time. If you need a reliable, compact solution to connect your headphones without losing quality, this is a solid choice.

95% of people will buy this just to be able to connect their wired headphones to their iPhone, but what they won't realize is this a very capable DAC/amp (emphasis more on the DAC) that powers relatively low impedance headphones with ease and measures incredibly well for the price. I plugged HD58x's into these (relatively easy to power) and they got plenty loud enough and sounded great. You can tell when going from something like a Liquid Spark or JDS Atom to this that the openness and separation does suffer a little bit, but it's shocking how close they are. What this won't do is properly power high impedance headphones. It's not a ton of power into 32 ohms, so when you start to get to 250 ohms+ it's not capable enough to take full advantage of what those headphones can do. Still, this is absolutely the best DAC/amp you can buy for under $10 and represents one of the best values in audio in my opinion. I didn't really need this for any specific reason, but I bought it to play around with and am super pleased with its performance. I'll still use my desktop setup most of the time, but if I want to walk around the house and don't want to use Bluetooth, this is the only way to go. If you're just looking for a converter and don't understand or care about most of what is written above, you'll also be very pleased. Essentially, these will make your headphones sound better while providing a strong, secure connection into your phone. I can't recommend this product enough.

It’s great way to plug in headphones and listen to music if you need to charge your wireless one. Fits great with my iPhone 8 and it functions well.

This is becoming frustrating. I had previously ordered 3 headphone jack adapters for my iPhone 7+, and all 3--including one purchased from Apple Store--failed. Then I came upon this one, being offered by Amazon as an Add-On special (when appended to an order of Amazon-sold products totaling $25 or more) for $7.69. Having nothing to lose, I added it to an order of shampoo and toothpaste. This time the product worked--no drop-outs, no static, it just plain performed! I got carried away and ordered one of those metal knobs that promises lock-tight security for your Headphone Jack adapter. Of course, I lost my lone functional adapter before the metal knob arrived. Immediately I went to the same page to buy another adapter. Surprise! It's no longer being sold! (It figures. Apple's removal of the Headphones Out port has created a large and competitive sub-rosa industry among Asian manufacturers that deal in cloning iPhone "accessories." Why doesn't Apple join forces with these dealers instead of encouraging them to counterfeit and scab off of Apple products? [Original Review:] This is my 4th order for an adapter for my many non-Bluetooth headphones and, especiallly, earphones. Best of all, it's the first one that works! (No drop-outs--yet.) After the failure of the same $9 adaptor ordered from Apple Store, I'm surprised, relieved, and happy to have this little bugger connected to the power port of my iPhone 7+. Now I have 2 additional wishes: 1. I hope I don't inadvertently disconnect, misplace, or lose this little guy (losing my new iPod Touch was a heartbreaker--these small and light "itiinerants" have a habit of booking flight elsewhere, with other faces and frequent fliers;; 2. I hope it continues to perform as it has for the past couple of days and nights. (On the other hand, if it fizzles on me, the concern mentioned in #1 will no longer matter. I'll be minus more gadgets--a victory for the human spirit that explores a world without boundaries (no user-name or email address requried of the boundless imagination) and without the daily exasperating struggles with "passwords.," Instead, with each break-down it's easier to say: "I travel light."

I'm on this page to purchase a new adapter just like the one (or 2?)I previously used, which seems to have been lost by the certain kiddo of mine who loses stuff as often as I do—or misplaced by me. Okay, first, so I first purchased the now-lost adapter from *this* listing/this seller, as Amazon points out at the top of this page. (See pic.) Second, even minor audio stuff is a bigger deal to me than (I really imagine) to most people, as my actual professional is that of a professional "art music" ["classical" musician, as most understandably say—but that term has some problems of which of course I'll spare you the details here]. So, all I'm saying is, I notice audio quality, & I have little patience even for arguably poor CALL quality or whatnot. For these reasons, I think I'm qualified to assure you. Last time I got this from this retailer, there was, as I recall, no concern about any generic-type packagIng—no concern about it being a knock-off immediately. More important, as this was my first such adapter, I remember being quite pleasantly pleased with everything about it. I used it with whichever iPhone(s) I had at the time for calls & on-the-go media listening, as well as a with my iPad Pro for listening, recording, etc., with earbuds when whatever I was listening to was not some huge deal, and for more-huge-deal listening with my beloved Audio-Technicas,, a [surprisingly great, particularly for noise cancelling] paid of Bose, or either of my "audiophile" young kids' high-end Sonys (&, btw, I'm not ax mum who gets my kids unduly high-end things, but I found those, obviously MAjorly mistakenly under-priced on Amazon Prime Now ~15 months ago, so I of course snatched those instead of getting the correctly priced cheap ones). NO PROBLEM AT ALL with this adapter, for however long I had it readily available (maybe over a year), & I've personally no reason to have believs the seller has "gone to the dark side" or whatever. BUT, as I'm ordering a couple of so more of these today for same-day delivery, I PROMISE you that if there's ANY problem, I'll add an addendum to this. Okay? (And, yeah, I KNOW a lot of folks say stuff like that, but they unexpectedly get too busy, or forget, or have become so fed up with Amz they can't tolerate anything concerning reviews. I get it. But, when it comes to anything that disrupts my music-listening or playing, I'll hop on Amazon to warn folks. (Not the case [as consistently] with so many of the not-well-considered, purchased, cheap clothing, my very rare "home decor" purchases or whatever. And, you know, I used to review thingx rather diligently because the review set-up used to be (long, long ago) really helpful. But now, there are so many maddeningly obvious fake reviews, and maddeningly non-obvious (paid-for)!fake reviews—sellersv getting pressured to hype their often-pointless drop-ship merchandise, or (even worse) sellers paying folks to rip apart competitors' wares. The system now has too little utility for me to bother with it. But, as I promised, if there's a problem with my new purchase here, I'll let you know. If I don't (by, like, early February 2021), you can assume I'm pleased as punch with the new purchase (or that something terrible has happened in, or to, my life—but as I'm confined to home, with good security system, & as we're in good health these days, just assume the news adapters all worked out. Sure, it's a free add-on with your iPhone, and it isn't the most durable option available, but if you need to go wired this is one of the best options at any price. This review is from a beginner audiophile perspective. AudioScienceReview and Ken Rockwell have measured this little DAC/amp and proven that it measures better than some options costing 10x as much (the Audirect Beam for instance), and while it probably won't outshine an Audioquest Dragonfly, it's still essentially the older iPhone's already-great internal sound chip, but removed from that chassis and further isolated electronically. On top of this, it has a very low sub-1-ohm output impedance and so is perfect for use with sensitive, and/or impedance-dependant IEMs, like Campfire's Andromeda, or the Massdrop Plus. Beyond that, there's enough voltage on tap for even some more demanding headphones, like the Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 58X*. I personally like the sound it puts out more than the Shanling M0's headphone-out. Honestly, if you're still using wired headphones, this dongle will provide measurably transparent, clear, and detailed sound, while driving most of your in-ear, and over-ear headphones. You really and truly can't do much better for the price, and I'd 100% recommend getting an Apple replacement before getting another brand or knockoff product. I would also recommend this before recommending a pair of Lightning-terminated headphones, as these will give you the option to use whatever headphones you want**. Apple really needs to swap to USB-C on their phones though (lol). * As a note, more amplification can of course improve your listening experience with higher impedance, or lower sensitivity headphones. 1v isn't as much as a Dragonfly Red or Cobalt, and if you have demanding headphones, and are looking for a portable solution, then you might be better served there, but you're looking at 20x to 30x the price, respectively. This product is cheap enough that if you're not sure, purchase one, and keep it on hand as a reference, to compare and see if a different or competing product is worth it. ** As another note, If you plan to use a pair of Audeze iSine earphones with your iPhone, then I would definitely recommend a Cipher Cable over this product, as the iSine really and truly benefits from the tuning Audeze did within their Cipher cables. //Disclaimer// I have not been asked, paid, or otherwise compensated for the content of this review. I bought from another supplier and the sound was patchy. I had to return them and order the adapter straight from apple. Works perfectly.

Works like a champ. I only use Apple authentic part for some reasons especially for lightning to 3.5mm cable. It is 5th one. I usually bought them from Costco and Staples. It works like that and so far, I dont have any problem with disconnection or so. Satisfied.
