Works great

I was given a defunct solar system and wanted to get it up and running again. I needed to use a car inverter which had a lighter plug, so I purchased this plug to use for that... The outlet itself is not of a design which allows a decent fit to any of the plugs I have. They all fit very loose and will not maintain even a reasonable connection. The included wiring and fuse holder is of a very light gauge, it looks to be around 18awg. The wiring gets warm to the touch even with a .5amp continious load. The design of this plug is poor to be nice; probably dangerous to be honest. Overall, I choose this plug over other options here because they all seemed to share the same defect, loose connection and poor design. This plug was the cheapest option and in the end it served it purpose for me as a temporary device; I was able to get the system running with the help of this product. But, it's a piece of crap for sure, at least it was a "cheap piece of crap"...😋

Needed a replacement for my boat. This one lights up, it looks nice and it works. Three things the old one didn’t do anymore. I wasted some time on the install because I did a lot of other wiring on the boat at the same time, so when it didn’t work I didn’t realize right away that it was defective and checked all my other work before noticing it was a defective socket. The positive terminal had a bad solder joint causing it to not work, I bought another and returned the defective one and works as it should. I couldn’t say if it’s a bad design or not as sometimes things just happen. Pay attention to the diameter of the unit though because this one was larger than the old one so I had to enlarge the hole. To do that I used a hole saw and to keep it centered I used the old receptacle bolted in the center of the hole saw in place of the usual drill bit. Because I was going through plastic I cut the hole slowly and carefully and the installation looks flawless. I can now charge my phone or spotlight in the boat again. So far, even with the small hiccup that cost me a little time, I am pleased with the product.

Surprisingly, this fit the hole for an original unit in the back of a 2001 isuzu Rodeo! Very Nice!

Works as described.

This cigarette lighter socket was described as "marine" grade. I chose it because I wanted something reliable and weather resistant. I installed it in my camper a few weeks ago, but haven't really used it until recently. Cigarette plugs don't fit securely in it. I have three devices with plugs and none of them fit well, while all three fit snuggly in three other sockets in my truck and camper. This is happening because the inner diameter of the fitting is too large, and maybe too slippery. All cigarette plugs have a center electrical contact (+) that is spring-loaded. This socket is so loose that the spring pushes the plug back out. One of my plugs doesn't even fit tightly because the side connectors (-) don't even make good contact with the sides of the socket. I would be returning this item if the return window was not closed. Very disappointed - now I have to buy another one and install it.

Worked for a couple of days and then the lights stopped working on it,socket still works but that’s not the point.Don’t buy it’s rubbish.
