Improved cats teeth health
Used for a month before my cats' annual check up. We have 3 cats, but only 2 went for the annual where I got feedback. I bought this after I noticed one of my cats showing some tooth sensitivity (spitting food out, chewing weird, acting like he couldn't swallow, or like something was stuck in his teeth). He has been on watch for gingivitis since I adopted him (around 4mo old, he is now 2). I found this on the Vet Oral Health Council list of approved items and just went for it. Once he started using it on a regular basis, I didn't see any more of the signs I had seen before, and his breath has improved somewhat. The teeth that were already a concern didn't change drastically for the cat with gingivitis, but the other teeth seem to be in good shape (crossing fingers). My other cats teeth were in perfect health, so I think this has made a noticeable difference along with brushing his teeth (the cat with the gingivitis won't allow me to brush his teeth at all). Using this in combination with brushing has given the best results, it seems. My complaints about this product are that it's such a small amount of product for a large bottle (it's about half full when you get it) and the scooper is so small it can be difficult to get out of the bottle. Giving this to 3 cats on a daily basis, we went through it in about a month. It's cheaper than dental surgery and easier than brushing their teeth, so I will continue to purchase this. Our vet who specializes in only cats supports this product as well. I will say, I've used other products like the Greenies dental treats and water additives but this seems to have given the best results in the shortest amount of time. 6/6/24 Update: Our boy who has the most severe gingivitis had to have some teeth removed last year. I wish I had started this product earlier, but I’ve been using it consistently ever since. We went for our annual checkup last week for two of our boys. For the one with the worst teeth, they said it’s not perfect, but it’s to the point that his teeth are manageable (and could stay this way if everything stayed the same) without having to do another round of surgery. I’ve also started teeth brushing whenever I can (no regular routine). When the vet checked his teeth, she said that there was little-to-no tartar! He hates toothpaste, so I started using treats like purée lickable stuff (think Churu) and it’s been working great! He’s the most fussy one of the bunch, so just being able to brush is a win to me. Another thing I’ve started using regular is a water additive. Nothing like a wildly expensive cat surgery and unpleasant recovery to make you try anything to prevent having to go thru it again. Overall, I would recommend this product again and again.

Cat-Approved, but Packaging Could Be Better
Our vet recommended this product to help reduce plaque and tartar buildup for our cats. We’ve been adding it to their food daily and will see at our senior cat’s next checkup if it’s been effective. It’s easy to mix in and the cats don’t seem to mind the taste, which is a win! My only complaint is that the scoop always comes flipped upside down and gets caught on the jar’s lip (just a small annoyance).

Great Results!
My vet recommended this soon after I got my nine-year old cats as kittens. They have gotten such glowing results at their COHATs (comprehensive orahl health assessment and treatment) that my vet geeks out over it. I've never brushed their teeth, and their on a raw diet. I attribute a lot of their good oral health to this product. And they've never had a problem taking it when mixed in their food. I give a full scoop once a day.

A bit Stony
I bought this product because it had good reviews, and having a powder instead of crushing tablets might be easier. The smell was not bad, and my cat had no reaction to it. It was easy enough to use, but it had so many stony pieces in it, and that made it a little difficult. I even tried crushing them and that didn't work. My cat has stomatitis so I look for things to help with her teeth and any build up. I even tried crushing the pieces and it didn't crush easily. In the end I had to sift through the pieces to try to get as much powder as I can. I have posted photos below, because of all those pieces I've lost alot of my product. It's difficult with the pieces for my cat to consume. I decided to fill them in empty capsules and give it to her in a likable treat. It seems like a good product but I was just disappointed with how much stony bits there were. The price is not bad, it's cheaper than the other one I was using. I would like to continue using it, but if it's not really a powder, I'll have to find something else.

All 3 of my girls don't mind it!
I bought one bottle to try as my vet was unable to do surgery on my cat's teeth due to a reaction to anesthesia. I was worried that Mona would turn away from this but we hide it in some Churu treat and she gobbles it up. I've started my other two cats on it and they both love it. I've since purchased two more bottles. They don't seem to notice a difference at all with their treats as they all come running when they hear the jar open and they take their meds like good little fluffy girls. I've noticed that their breath isn't as nasty either! I hope this item comes back in stock. I'm definitely sold on it!

This stuff works!
My rescue kitty was diagnosed with stomatitis and it was bad. Really bad. She's a tiny kitty anyway but she lost weight due to inability to eat. The vet said the only way to ensure full recovery was to remove all of her teeth. We definitely didn't have the money and had to start saving. In the meantime, I researched alternatives to at least give her some relief. I found Plaque Off and thought it sounded promising. After a couple of weeks of mixing it into the vitamin-enhanced broths we were able to get her to swallow, she was clearly having an easier time of swallowing. I added some pureed meat and she started putting on weight. Within two months of her taking the Plaque Off, she was back to eating shredded meats with broth! Her breath was better, her demeanor was better, and she was steadily replacing the weight she'd lost. I'm not saying the stomatitis has been healed/reversed/eradicated. I'm saying IT WORKS!!! No more ulcers or lesions in her mouth and no more landfill-in-summer breath. Yes, she still drools and, yes, she still has sensitive teeth and is unable/unwilling to eat crunchy things. She's also still skittish. However, she's happier, at a good weight, her coat is glossy and soft, and the most recent vet visit (different vet) resulted in cautious support of continuing to use the Plaque Off. Due to the dental damage, her teeth will eventually need to be pulled, but she may be able to retain some of the less damaged ones. That's another drama for a different time. All I'm concerned with is ensuring she's happy, well-fed, healthy, and remains a part of our family. Maybe trolls will find this review worth targeting but we're doing what we can for a kitty who's so sweet and (when she allows it) starved for attention and love.

Ferret Dental Care
Do your research before using this. I talked to my vet. I also reached out to a few other manufacturers with similar products to see if they considered this product “safe” for ferrets. The product works by softening plaque. It can start to work in as little as a week, but best results are supposedly seen a few weeks after daily use. With that said, the plaque doesn’t remove itself. I am still brushing my ferret’s teeth (not fun for either of us). I can say it does soften the plaque and make it appear white and spongey, but it still has to be scraped off. The bad part is…it makes my ferrets sick at half the cat dose. They did not vomit outright, but started having hiccups and belching up vomit onto the floor. I cut back to just a tiny pinch of product and stay on it for a week or until I see diarrhea start. I stop use once the diarrhea starts, but continue with the brushing until I see everything go back to normal. Then I rotate back on again. I will try this until the teeth look clean and gums improve. I am seeing improvement in gingivitis and gum line plaque, but the overall discoloration is still there. The main thing to note is that this product is made of seaweed and seaweed has iodine. That is why there is a precaution on the label about hyperthyroidism. I’m not a vet, but google told me diarrhea is a symptom of iodine overdose so that is what I am using as a clue for my dosing and frequency of feeding. Also lack of appetite or vomiting can indicate too much iodine. I have noticed intermittent dosing is pretty ineffective, so I stay with consecutive days on a low dose and then quit for a week or two. I will try to continue use of this product until there is no evidence of gingivitis or red gums. I am not sure if this product will work for my needs in the long run. Update: after prolonged use as described above, this did not cure the gingivitis. It may have slowed the progression of dental issues. Dental care will still be needed to keep the teeth healthy in my case. Dental care includes brushing, scraping or providing chew toys, and eventually dental cleaning by a vet.

May take a while to get results / cats don’t seem to notice it in food
Been using for a month on my two male cats, but the jury is still out as to its effectiveness. I guess it’s what u don’t find that’s the proof!
