Review: Works well with great range - I purchased this for my outbuilding door which was around 50-60m away from the the main Yale hub (have a Yale home system). It was easy to install with good instructions. What made it great was the range at which it still detected changes quickly such as door opening and alarm trigger. There was no delay, even on the app. All in all, great value and good product

**Q: Is there a setting that allows you to zap intruders in the groin with some kind of laser?**
A: There is a secret code for that yes. You have to set it to disruptercon 4 and activate the discombobulator mode. This will then allow the door contact to laser intruders in the groin. Disruptercon 3 turns on head mode (makes a mess)

**Q: What happens if there is Power loss or internet loss?**
A: There is an internal battery that will allow the alarm to operate during a power cut. If there is Internet loss you can still operate the alarm via the keypad

**Q: Are these sensors waterproof?**
A: Although they are not waterproof, I have had one fitted for nearly a year outside covering our drive to the side of the house. I have fitted with a plastic covering over the top to prevent rain from hitting the unit, and it has been absolutely fine so far.

**Q: Can the keypad be placed anywhere? or does it need to be powered by mains?**
A: It's battery powered and can be placed anywhere. The batteries are said to last up to 2 years and it is the cr2302 type.

I’ve had my Yale security system for almost 10 years now, and while the door/window contacts aren’t the prettiest things in the world ‘they’re a bit bulky and don’t fit perfectly on every frame’ they’ve proven to be absolutely rock-solid in reliability. The system itself is incredibly robust. The contacts respond instantaneously, and the alarm has never let me down. The PIR sensors can be a little over-sensitive at times, but that’s to be expected without more advanced and often more expensive presence detection. One of the best aspects is that the whole setup is completely wireless. It makes installation and repositioning around the house quick and hassle-free. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Seemed to have a fault

My yale sync system is well built, reliable and I've never had any connectivity issues. It's discrete and looks subtle on the door frames. In my other door contacts the batteries last about 18 months. For the price these cost they're a good quality additional protection for my home at a reasonable value. Having said all that based on my general experience with yale sync, i think i must have just got a device with a gremlin. This device connected fine and was easy to fit to thr door and frame. The same as all door contacts it just screw and sticks on to fit it. But it would not register a door opening or closing. Even when not installed and just side by side, nothing happened. There seemed to be a fault with the magnet or the metal switch that's activated when the door opens / closes and thr magnet moves. I needed to add a device quickly, so had to return this one and I got a replacement from a local shop which has been fine. Its the first time I've had an issue, so keeping 4 stars despite the issues with the specific one I received. Easy return to Amazon as always.
