I bought this as a backup to have with me in my computer/travel bag, for when I forget or leave my original charger at my office, or when needed out and about. It plugs in... it charges... what else can I say? It works.For anyone wondering, I am on an early 2013 15" Macbook Pro w/ Retina Display and it is certainly compatible here on this end.
