Works great

I swithced jobs recently and my new company laptop is an HP Elitebook 840 G5. I have a different docking station for it at the office but figured I would give this one a try at home for use with my home monitor and wireless keyboard and mouse. It works great for me. The LAN socket works as well as all the USB's I'm writing this review because the answers people were posting were confusing. Some people said it didn't work with an HP Elitebook 840 G5 - I can confirm that it does so I hope this helps someone with the same model and was on the fence about buying it. The packaging and power cord are generic but I expected both with a refurbished unit. The main thing is the power cord does work fine so I have no issue with it. One other thing - to find the model number of my laptop I had to take out my handy camera zooming app and zoom in and take a picture of the small print on the bottom of my laptop to see the small print to see the "Elitebook 840 G5" I know - common sense here but for an old guy like me going through settings on the laptop at first just know it's printed in near microscopic lettering on the bottom of the laptop... My wife and I both use HP laptops for work, so I have two of these docking stations in two locations in the house. They're good for keeping the laptop charged and connecting to keyboard, mouse and monitors and don't take much space. My only complaint is that it has one VGA connector and two DisplayPort connectors. It would have been much more useful to swap one out for HDMI. I work around this with an additional HDMI to DisplayPort adapter on one docking station and a DVI to DisplayPort adapter on the other. You just need to be careful to buy the right adapters if connecting multiple monitors.

I bought this docking station and two DisplayPort monitors. I put it all together and ran into a critical issue - the monitors would go on for a few seconds, then off for a few. It kept repeating that forever. After a couple of hours of researching and trying a few things, the resolution was to upgrade to version 2.33 of the HP docking station firmware. (Mine was at 2.27 and version 2.30 did not resolve the issue). If I had not been able to resolve that bug, it would have made the two monitors I bought to use with it expensive doorstops, but now all seems to be working well.

This docking station could not be more of a lifesaver. I had to check in with the seller on something and their response was super prompt and incredibly helpful. I'm very happy to have done business with them, and very happy with the product. It was a quick and easy setup, and working from home on my work laptop is now ever easier than it is at work.

Love this docking station. This docking station is perfect as it takes up very little room on my nightstand. It’s great to travel with as well. Both the iphone watch charging mount and iPhone charging mount fold down flat. I also like the fact that my iPhone is in an upright position so I can see it easily during the night if I need to.

The box didn't come with any instructions. Though the setup should be straight forward. However, when tried multiple troubleshooting options, nothing seemed to work. That's why not having instructions was frustrating. That said, after an hour of playing around with different variables and looking up troubleshooting options online, it was the power adapter that was dead. Luckily, my laptop charger is compatible, so I am using that. I wasn't able to get a partial refund, and only offered to return the entire docking station. Not worth the hassle.

Fast service and great value. I love it for my teaching desk at school, since I teach in more than one room. Having a docking station like this makes things pretty seamless.

La entrega tardó más días de lo que promete Amazon, llegó en una caja genérica dentro de una bolsa plastica. Al abrirlo descubro que tiene varias marcas de maltrato, incluso a la distancia de una brazo extendido como dice la descripción, estaba sucio, lleno de polvo. La descripción dice que en el proceso de renovado lo limpian, aquí parece que eso se les olvidó. La estación hasta el momento funciona como se promete, no ha fallado, sin embargo no es exactamente lo que pensé, si la quieres tener siempre en funcionamiento la batería tendrá que estar siempre al 100%, si la desconetas ya no te servirán ninguno de los conectores. La vida util de la batería es importante, tenrla siempre al máximo de carga no es saludable.
