2 1/8" when inserted up to the yellow band. 1 5/8" when the yellow band is fully inserted.

Sally, No, they are to thin. Even pushed in all the way, they still wiggle. Find a Tee with a 1/4 " diameter shaft. Hope this helps. Rich
