I got this for working from home. It’s a good thing to have under my desk. It is useful for when I’ve been at my desk for long periods. This is as it allows me to massage my feet, keep my feet at a comfortable angle. Easy to put together too. It’s good support.

A footrest can be useful if you sit at a desk using a PC for long periods. For the workplace (which of course now includes WFH), Government legislation, which hasn’t changed much in 30 years, says “a footrest may be helpful, particularly for smaller users”, i.e. if your feet don’t touch the floor. Otherwise it can be supportive for aches and pains. As I use a laptop, I don’t need a footrest of this type, but my wife has a desktop PC, so I ordered this with her in mind. You can pay a lot more for a footrest, but they’re much of a muchness, and you may as well get a cheap one like this. It’s made of thick, solid plastic. The three rows of grey in the middle are the massage rollers, which you can use or not as you wish, though obviously there will be more effect if you aren’t wearing footwear. The footrest comes in three parts: the footrest pedal and the two feet. It is very easy to assemble – see attached photos of the instructions. (These refer to four screws; in fact there are only two, one for each foot.) Once the feet are attached, you fix them by inserting the screws to one of the six holes on the side of the footrest. You choose the hole according to the height adjustment you want, so you’ll need to experiment at first. Not an item which all PC users will require, but a good buy if you need one.
