VI003 Black Tachometers Pet1010

This product is accurate, light and easy to use. I bought it to measure the rpm of my very old Kawasaki 4S bike so that I could tune it perfectly. However, I fail to understand what is the use of the contact method in the tachometer because the non contact method must also be switching on by default the moment the tachometer is brought close to the spark plug cable for connecting the tachometer's clamp to it. So, which method actually displays the result during the contact method? Also, the indication of "4Stroke 1 Cylinder" within brackets below the left hand selector is puzzling because that selector has no such function- the right hand side selector has this function. The product has a battery life of 20,000 hours but states nothing about how to replace it. The product cannot be used for Diesel and Direct Ignition Engines but only for monitoring rpm of petrol 2 Stroke 1 Cylinder and petrol 4 Stroke 1 and 2 Cylinder Engines. No case or chord has been provided to safely carry such an expensive and delicate electronic product. The tachometer is made in Japan.
