Small-Scale Pig Raising

It's ok. NOTHING to do with pasture raising pig. Decent background and general information.

Very informative.

I have read and reread parts of this book several times. It is accurate, helpful, and fun. I took it to the barn when our sow farrowed. It doesn't contain everything you need to know, but for us beginners it was--and is--nearly indispensable.

Very good information that seems to be based on good research and practical experience.

I like this book. It's an easy read and has information about processing as well as behavior.

O.k ....more slanted towards factory farming than I expected .

Love this book, it helped me learn to raise my 3 pigs

I like this book and am finding it helpful. A couple of things, though... first, there's a lot of really basic info. This is great for a rank beginner, but we are just a little beyond that. Having said that, there is a lot of very helpful stuff, too. The second thing is that the author does present a lot of conventional-type information. This is fine, but we are doing grazing hogs and are interested in more information along that line. I give it 5 stars, because if you are looking for small-scale, conventional, and beginner information, it's a great book.

Good product

I am currently half way through this book and I'm struggling to get to the end. While the information is informative it seems like a lot of the information is old and has not been updated. I also found the history of pigs and boars to be... well boring!
