Backstory: Found 3x 18v Skil XDrive tools near my dumpster with a charger and 2 bad batteries. I took the chance and purchased this battery and they immediately brought all 3 tools back to life. Out of the box, this battery feels heavy and sturdy. I have no fear of dropping the battery and it breaking. It feels very solid. The battery fit onto the charger (it did not “click” into place just like the Skil brand battery) and it charged perfectly. Once charged, I tested the battery in each of the 3 different tools. The battery “clicked” audibly in each tool and with several shakes while running each tool, the battery did not slip out. The power and performance seems quality, although I was not able to get a baseline since I found these tools with dead batteries and could not test OEM battery performance. However, they seem to be in good operational condition. For the money, I can not be happier with this battery. Only thing is, is how long it will last. I have no idea. I bought this to replace a 10+ year old SB18A 18V SKIL battery for my backup set of tools. I haven't been able to use the tools in a while because the original battery is long past its prime. Been searching around a replacement, and they all seemed to range from $50-$100 so I jumped at the opportunity to buy one of these at this fantastic price point (29.99 USD at the time of purchase). As soon as it got here, I popped it into a SKIL SC118 charger and after about an hour, it was fully charged. Tested the battery in a drill, circular saw, jigsaw, and flash light and it fit snug in each and provided adequate power. My old SKIL battery has a mere 1.2 AH vs the 3AH of this battery, so that it great. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who wants to bring some of their old SKIL tools back to life.

Dislike too heavy

Bought this to replace the OEM battery for my Skil x-drive cordless drill. This battery fits the same as the original, hels a charge for the duration of the project, and seemed to take the charge from the OEM charger in the same way as the original. This replacement battery does NOT have the "battery power remaining" indicator lights that the OEM battery has. For the cost savings, it makes no difference to me. I've only had it since Oct 2019, so no comment on longevity yet, but will update if there's a problem...If this review doesn't have a follow-up, assume it has not prematurely failed on me.
