Homedics Paraffin Wax Bath
As described - well wrapped/boxed arrived safely and ahead of projected time by a day. Easy to set up.Just used the once so far . Took 60 minutes for the wax to dissolve and finished at a temperature of 54c (can feel hot temporarily but after final dip cools to a comfortable and pleasant temperature). Also bought a thermometer for just over £2 free postage which we will use to ensure safe temperatures before use. Came with 3 blocks of wax which is sufficient for hand dipping - yet to try feet and also 20 plastic bags, so basically everything that's needed. Early days but so far so good, difficult to say yet whether any benefit for my arthritis

Very hot, time consuming but good for bones
On physiotherapy advice we bought this for my sever osteoarthritis. It takes a very long time, but you are forewarned - to melt the wax, about two hours. However when you dip your hands or feet in, the wax is extremely hot, even when doing a test on the wrist. The problem is, if you leave it to cool a bit, then the wax starts to harden! So you have to dip when hot, put up with the burning pain and that gets easier with each layer that you build up. It does soothe arthritic joints and bones though, so no pain no gain I guess.

Great Wax Bath/for Occupational Therapy
When I decided to purchase the wax bath was a little dubious that it would work, I’ve been attending Occupational Therapy on and off since July this year for treatments after a work accident I had February 2016 then an operation March 2018, then to discover I now have CRPS chronic Regional Pain Sydrome. As soon as I got the Bath it looked great plenty of wax and put it too the test! Takes a good couple of hours to heat from cold but the second time was just over an hour! Room to get my whole hand and my wrist in but you have to move it about to get it fully covered which I don’t mind! Plastic bags come with it too. I did the same as if I was at OT 3 dips put in the bag then wrap in a towel, sit for 10 to 15 minutes and the result is amazingly the same, I can’t believe I’ve been travelling to hospital and back and I can do this myself allowing another patient who desperately needs a space in the hand class my place. For the money your not wasting your time as a few trips to hospital and car parks pay for itself. I can now use it as often as I wish instead of once a week with the same result. I definitely recommend this wax bath for hands and feet even for arthritis issues will ease the pain no complaints at all, apart from I struggled to get the wax out of the packets with my CRPS but that’s not a moan that’s just me saying get someone to put them in the bath for you if you struggle the product is fantastic. I videoed it for my friend who just had an operation on her foot.

It is VERY HOT
I suffered a hand injury and was attending hospital for hot wax therapy. Its alot hotter than the NHS one I had to let it cool down first as there is no pm temperature control. It felt like I was going to BURN my skin.

Product overheated the wax and didn’t temperature regulate.
After carefully following the instructions I used 2 of the 1lb paraffin wax blocks and switched on the unit to heat them and melt the wax. The red “Heating Do Not Use” indicator light on the front of the unit came on indicating heating was underway. Four hours later the red light was still showing. I removed the lid and used a digital thermometer probe which showed the temperature of the paraffin wax was in excess of 70 degrees! Way above the 50-55degrees stated in the product specification. Obviously this would scald severely. I can only imagine that the unit has a faulty temperature regulator. I am returning the product and getting a refund.

It’s excellent but after the wax melts you need to remove the cover, then turn it off and wait for 15 min to dip your hands.
