Refresh filter
These are amazing and keep the water filtered for my pet cat, she loves drinking the fresh water especially, now during this very hot spell of sunshine we are having, I have only just discovered these as I thought I had to buy a complete new drinking fountain, but these save me the cost of doing that.

Strange situation.
Pleased with my Catit fountain i needed replacement filters. I have yet to find a definitive way of knowing when one of these filters has expired and is no longer purifying the water. I noticed soap like bubbles on the water surface when using my original single catit filter, looked inside and the white bucket was a dusty grey. Something seemed to have got into the water and rinsed charcoal out of the filter...so i purchased these replacements. Now, i have no method of determining the water condition other than litmus papers. These colour papers tell u alkalinity and nothing else but they indicate that the water is around 6 to 7 ph alkalinity. Which is okay. Thats the same std you get from tap water. Though i use spring water in mine. The strange thing is this. These are catit filters, fit perfectly, had no issues with delivery or fit, seem to be performing well regards performance. No issue now with black murky water. That has to have been my fault somehow. A drip of detergent perhaps off my hands while handling the unit, maybe. The strange thing is this. A wavy cut out at the back of the fountain is suppose to ensure the water level never exceeds the hieght of the front lip where my cat drinks. What is happening though, that didnt occur with the original filter, is that the delivery speed of water from the pump exceeds the filter and overflow limiter capacity of the returning water. Simply put...it pumps UP more than drains DOWN. That means it eventually starts overflowing down the outside of the bucket reservoir! I have carpets. Theres no space for it on my small kitchen hard floor. So my carpets keep getting soaked. I now have to limit the ontime for the unit as this condition takes hours to build up. By having it off for a period it goes back to a slow fill and filter, but you have to watch out for the rising level!!!!

These are always good for the filtration. Storm tells me when it's beginning to get ready to change but I still mark it on my calender lol.

Relatively Good Value
A concern when committing to buying a fountain that requires a filter is that the ongoing costs will be large. With the Catit fountain this is not the case, a years supply for £24, or £2 a month is well worth the benefits gained from having a fountain. Filters are easy to install and prepare and come individually wrapped. Our filters have performed well across 30 days and we replace them on this basis.
