Pilot Fountain Pen Converter (CON-70)

This converter is the best converter pilot has on their pens. Mine did end up being a CON 70n which does have differences between the regular but are often sold in the same lot. The ink flow was perfect and it had no leaking. It looks nice in my kakuno and with its larger ink capacity than a con 40 it shows off more of it. The capacity also means that you have to clean it less often. This was a good value when combined with a kakuno. Being able to use whatever ink you want is a huge perk of these. Who is it for: people who want to best pilot converter and are willing to pay a little more, People who hate screwing piston converters, People who want larger ink capacity, people who like bottled ink Who isn't it for: people who really want to save a few dollars for a con 40, people willing to fill old cartridges with an ink syringe, people who like using cartridges anyway, Tip: submerge the tip in water and repeatedly press the button to eject ink into a cup or shot glass dedicated to ink pens. This will do 95% of your cleaning that people like to complain about. Just keep doing it until it is clean and rinse out the water to get it fully clean. Flicking the converter can make water droplets travel down since it will stick to the sides thanks to physics.

It's plastic, It's pilot, Its a con-70 pen converter. There's nothing really to say about it as it works perfectly, holds a lot of ink, and doesn't interfere with ink flow. About a cartridge and a half in size and works in most pilot pens. Expensive for what your getting but if you use a lot of ink it will be worth it.

Good alternative to cartridges. Holds more ink so less expensive and lasts longer between refills which is essential in art as opposed to writing.

Perfect. Holds plenty of ink and brought my Pilot Kakuno back to life.

This is so much easier to plug and play with the Kakuno fountain pen. Its easy to clean and to use to help clean the nib of the pen. It is easy to put ink in it with the nib of the fountain pen. It holds the right amount of ink well enough to be able to change ink in decent amount of weeks.

I got the CON-70 to go along with my Pilot Custom 74 and I've been using it for a good few months now. I've decided to write this review in two different sections. Lets start with the cons. Cons (heh get it... cons): - The first thing I disliked about this converter was the price, it feels like too much to spend on a converter - My biggest peeve with this converter has to be its cleaning. Cleaning this converter is such a pain. Any time you want to switch inks, in particular from black to a lighter color, you pretty much have to completely take apart the converter and clean it out. There are a few videos on this process on YouTube you may want to look at when you need to do this for yourself. I've found that just flushing with water a few times will not completely clean it, a soak and sonic cleaner may get the job done without taking the pen apart though. That pretty much sums up my negative feelings on this converter. Now for all the things I love about it! - Its a piston filler!! That alone is a pretty awesome addition to any beginner collection of fountain pens. - It has a massive ink capacity. If this is going to be for your every day writer and you need massive amounts of ink or you just hate refilling your pen then this converter is amazing. - It has a clear base so you can see the amount of ink you have left. I have a love hate relationship with this converter. I love it because its beautiful, big, and fun to fill. My only real problem now that I have it on my pen is that I wont switch colors as often because of the hassle of cleaning out the converter. If you're getting this for a pen that you are going to be using every day and not changing the color on a lot I couldn't recommend this converter enough. If you're going to be changing ink a lot you may want to go with something like the CON-50.

Way better than the CON-40 Far easier to fill, has a bigger ink capacity and fits into most pilot pens, there’s really no reason to choose to CON-40 over this converter unless it doesn’t fit your pen

Fits my EF Kakuno perfectly. Filled up like a gem. The large volume is compatible to the cartridge but I now have the freedoms to swap ink. Easy to wash out w warm water. Getting another one.
