I have two of them and use them with my Ecowitt WS90 Weather Station. Very well made and seem to be accurate. I have the setup with my Ecowitt weather station to notify me (by text & email) when the moisture gets too low, so I remember to water the plants. They also work great outside with my tomato plants and herbs. Review: Works great! - I love this soil moisture meter. I don't really have a way to test how accurate it is, but I can tell you it reads 0% moisture in dry air and 100% moisture when dipped in water, so it's at least got the two boundaries right. It seems to match my handheld moisture meter I use for plants outdoors. You know, the kind with two prongs that you stab into the soil and the little needle on the dial tells you moisture content. Well, I have to say I trust this moisture meter a bit more as it seems to read more consistently. The probe itself is a little bigger than I anticipated, but that's not a big deal. If you are trying to identify which frequency band your device is using, I couldn't do it from packaging. The best answer that I could give you is that if you bought it on Amazon with a US shipping address, then you probably got the 915 version instead of the 433 that you thought you were buying. I understand that if you need a 433, you can contact Ecowitt and they will send you one intended for another country. RTL_433 can be configured to use the 915 band, though this will mean you have two instances of RTL_433 and the sdr hardware. I do. The WH51B is not a powerful transmitter, and the receiver can't be a long distance away.
