Gift for my mom - she REALLY likes it! Good-lookin' too
My mom was wanting a 3-stair stepstool. She's 75 and if you don't keep an eye on her she'll be standing on the kitchen counter cleaning on top of the cupboards LOL I was looking at the 3-steppers and saw this one and really liked the idea of handrails. (The price wasn't that much more for a 4-stair vs. a 3-stair.) Mom said she thought it might be too much and I said "well, it's better to have 4 steps and not need them all, than to have 3 steps and need a 4th." It seems like a major production when you open it up, very elaborate and sturdy, like something you'd see backstage at a playhouse for decorating, etc. But it's also very attractive. The handrails are more for the first 3 steps up. When you're on the 4th, you're somewhat too high to be able to use them. Which is also why I liked it. Because even if she only needs 3, she'll have handrails. On the 3-stepper, the handrails are more for the first 2 steps, and the 3rd, you're too high. (If you get what I'm trying to explain there.) It was easy to put together. Did it in minutes. She wanted to fold it and put it next to the refrigerator. When I first put it together, like I said, it looked like a major production and wasn't sure we were going to be able to. But when we folded it, it still was thin enough to go next to the fridge. I did have to move the fridge over a little to accommodate another couple of inches width in comparison with her old 2-stepper. But I watched her pull it out, open it up, moved it around, close it up and put it back and she did fine. BONUS - that tool belt type attachment for the upper hand rail! AWESOME! Tools, a phone, snacks, whatever! In fact, I'm considering getting one for myself now. Price was reasonable, super fast shipping right to her house. VERY pleased with this purchase and HIGHLY recommend!

Good ladder! Very sturdy. Feels safe when using!
I love this step ladder! It feels safe when I’m using it with being slip resistant. The handles on the sides add to feeling comfortable while using it. It’s easy to store and open/close. The price was fair. I’d recommend it especially for apartment use, storage, and functionality.

Great for us elders
I received the item 2 days early which was nice. I opened the box and received a pleasant surprise. The latter is built like a tank. Very solid and stable. I love the handles in the side and the extension on the top to hang on to. It has wide steps for more stabiility. I have already used it and was pleased. Now the latter is large and is quite heavy, about 30 lbs. that doesn’t seem like much but sort of adjust your thinking to age. I’m an old duffer.so it takes a bit for me to haul it around. But that’s better than a broken hip which I have had. I like like it.

Great 4-Step Ladder
In my long search for a safe and stable 4-step ladder, I compared the specifications, reviews, and prices of a large number of similar items. I was especially attracted to those with side handles. The tipping point came when suddenly I saw the price on the Best Choice Products 4-step model drop to under $70. It arrived promptly, was well packaged, and, with a pair of pliers and screw driver, took less than ten (10) minutes to assemble. It snapped together securely with little effort and I found it even more steady and secure than I had hoped. I suspect that the included tool bag that attaches to the top bar will be handy for many home improvement projects, although, frankly, I think would have preferred a tray instead. I am 6' 3" tall, weigh about 218 pounds, and, at 78 years old, have grown less eager to experience the results of a fall. This ladder, I am convinced will lessen those chances, especially due to the side and top handles, the wide and deep steps, and its steadiness. While some reviewers complained about the ladder's weight, that was a feature that attracted me, as I equated it with greater stability. If this were a product I intended to use more often, I may have looked for a lighter option. It is not light. As it is, I expect to use it in the house to change ceiling lights, arrange high cabinets, and to perform other similar tasks. I am confident the ladder also will be useful outside for cleaning windows and even pruning the fruit trees in our orchard. The only flaw I have found was a rather obnoxious odor which I attribute to the "rubber" non-slip treads on each step, which is the sole reason for my not awarding the product five stars. So far, I have remedied that defect by storing the ladder in the garage. If the odor dissipates enough, I may try to sneak it back into a convenient nook in my wife's home office, or not. All in all, I highly recommend this item.

Perfect for handicapped/elderly
I ordered this for my elderly and disabled parents so they can safely get items from cabinets and shelves. It is perfect, not too heavy to easily move. It is tremendously stable and the tool pouch is very handy when putting things into our removing things from elevation (keeps hands free for the rails) When it's folded down it stores easily and it's easily popped back up. Both my parents are pretty weak and they were able to work it easily

Stool
Great for us older people. The rails help and it is very stable. Only thing is it’s a little heavier than I had hoped, but am still pleased with it.

Great for use around the house.
This is a great ladder for me as I am uncomfortable climbing ladders, and standing on them for any amount of time. It has some handy features that make it safer and easier to stand on to make repairs, install window dressings, change bulbs etc. I really like the hand grips on both sides and tool caddy which eliminates the need to get off to retrieve a different tool.

Solide produit mais pas pour les personnes âgées car il est assez pesant. Si c'était à recommencer, j'achèterais celui avec 3 marches.

info online states a rating of 330 lbs. but the instructions stated a maximum of 225 lbs. . The safety latch would not work without major reworking, and seemed to be missing a piece. The safety bracket was buckled. Lots of friction marks on unit . Not safe. Overall, I am very disappointed, if I had known about the rating mistake in the sales info online I would not have purchased the ladder.

Item arrived fast but with significant cosmetic damage, the safety latch for folding would definitely be a bit more sturdy considering this is probably for seniors or folks with reduced mobility. Still useable and definitely safer for anyone who feels unsafe on standard folding ladders. The pouch for tools is a nice touch, and is a snug fit. Whole thing assembled very easily but the handlebar screws are very easy to strip so be warned, but if you can get them in right with a a bit of fiddling the handlebars are very sturdy. Pros: fast shipping, easy-ish assembly, and relatively sturdy for the price, tool pouch, soft handles. Cons: cosmetic damage, assemble may require some fiddling, flimsy safety latch

The 4 step Ladder actually arrived earlier than expected. At 76, I have found that the smaller two and three step ladders are not as sturdy as I now require. I checked several different 3 and 4 step ladders on the internet. After carefully reading the reviews I chose the more expensive one and am VERY glad that I did. This is very sturdy and appears to be well (and thoughtfully) made. I had a few overhead tasks to do around the house so I put it to use immediately. First task was to replace 6 fluorescent tubes in my ceiling light fixture. As you can see by the number of faulty tubes (actually 4 were flickering but I changed all 6) I had put this uncomfortable task off for several months. There was a slight movement from ladder as I climbed up, but once I put both feet on the 3rd step and pushed my knees against the easily installed rails, I was very comfortable and felt safe and secure.. It took awhile to remove and replace all 6 tubes but the wide steps and sturdy construction helped me to get the job done in a safe and comfortable manner. I did not require the tool bag which is supplied, but this is a very thoughtful and handy addition. I am now getting ready to check and replace the batteries in my ceiling mounted smoke detectors. I am very happy with this purchase. (my wife is even happier since I can now finish off more of the repair items on her "Honey Doo List" and stay safe.) Paul G.
