Schylling 2700 Black Base Lava Lamp with Graffiti Globe, 4" x 4" x 14.5"

One year later and I’m still absolutely in love with this lamp! The product photos honestly don’t do it justice because the colors are so vibrant and stunning. That being said I finally decided to write a review since I was already on Amazon shopping for a new lightbulb for it anyway as it just went out. But the bulb lasted exactly one year since I first ordered it which is better than expected. And that’s with daily usage of about 10 to sometimes 12 hours a day that I have it on for. It still flows perfectly too that was until the light went out yesterday of course. However, if you do have any issues with having the lava flow correctly note that it could be because your place or the room you have it in could be too cold... I notice this any time I turn my ceiling fan on. When the fan isn’t on the lava flows as it should. But during the summer when I occasionally turn the fan on then the lava will get stuck and not move at all. Then once I finally turn it off and give my lamp about an hour to heat up again then it’s fine. So just something to keep in mind! But definitely worth the purchase! I’ll be buying a new lightbulb now, which shouldn’t be too much. I just hope I can find one as good as the one it came with!

I bought this for my BFs birthday. Took a few hours to get going. Nice. The next day and the day after, seemed sluggish to the point of not doing its thang. I asked if I should return it and he said it was a pretty light. On the fourth day, he decided to turn it over a couple of times (gentle shake) and BAM it works great.

I received the lamp but I saw that the base was bent, so I asked immediately for a replacement. Everything else seemed to be ok. The new one arrived shortly (to Chile) but with a dead bulb. I replaced the one from the other box, purchased a step-down voltage thing and then the lamp worked, but only forming pillars and worms… Is autumn here now, so the lamp never reaches the minimum temperature; 22°C in the room is the ideal I think, and I’m at 19 at the most. I wrapped the glass with aluminum foil for a couple of hours until it reached 52°C (measured with an infrared thermometer). Now is glowing and moving fluently. So, two things you must have: patience and a room over 22°C. Amazon customer service worked perfectly, this was a birthday present for my wife and they managed to send me the new lamp in just three days. Thanks!

I like this lava lamp. It looks nice and works well. It took about 3 hours to fully heat up the first time and start working as you would expect a lava lamp to, but lava lamps tend to start slow and heat up a little bit faster each time you turn it on from then so that is fine. The only things that I don't like are as follows: 1) As you can see in the picture, there is a bit of white residue on the inside of the glass near the bottom that I don't think will come off. Regardless, I can live with this as the rest of it still looks very cool. 2) The bulb socket was a little bent as it arrived, so the bulb does not screw in completely straight but a bit diagonal. So far this doesn't seem to be causing any issues and I will only be using the lava lamp when I am in the room with it, so I don't think this will be any type of inherent hazard. And to all buyers, make sure the coil is completely facing the bottom, not the top. I think a lot of the people saying their lamp won't work even after hours of having it on just have their coil in the wrong spot. I have not had to replace the bulb the lamp came with as some others have done, it works fine for me as is.

I bought this to change my lava lamp bottle for a different design. I love the look of it and I didn't bother in using the black design to plug it in since I have my other one that is silver. My other lava lamp was a blue dyed water with white wax. What's amazing this one has a design with clear wax. I did use the new bulb that came with this lamp and apparently does work great. Also because, there have been reviews from some unlucky costumers that got unworkable bulbs. Otherwise this Lava Lamp is great. Remember customers, it takes 2 - 3 hours for the lava to flow. It sometimes can be more hours depending on your room temperature Edit: Had the lamp for more than 9 months and the lamp still works perfectly. There were some nights I had my lamp on for more than 8 hours and it still lava flows beautifully, there is a video that I put for those who want to see it! :)

This Lava Lamp is excellent. It arrived quickly. Everything was correct and nothing broken. Easy to install and set it up. The lamp worked very well with the bulb that came with it. The wax melted and it flows in balls as expected. There were instructions that explain everything you need to know how to make it work. I would highly recommend this to people who want a lava lamp. This size is awesome for my daughter’s room. The colors are excellent and as expected. Couldn't expect anything better for this nice price. Would purchase it again also. Certainly, no issues or problems. The top and bottom black parts are made out of metal. Make sure you understand that initially it can take several hours for it to melt and flow. Also, make sure the metal ring with the solid wax is leveled properly in the base of the glass bottle. My daughter loves this lamp and says she loves the color and flowing wax daily.

Received a damaged product with dents at the base. I decided to keep it as I love this lamp. One important thing to note is it comes with US standard plug that's designed to work at 110V. Plugging it at 220V will cause the bulb to blow out You'd need a step down transformer for it to work here in India. Also, the bulb comes with it is kinda specifically made for this lamp that generates the right amount of heat and illumination. Unfortunately you can't find it here in India. Anyway, After reading another user's review, I decided to replace the holder with a E14 Ceramic type and the bulb with an E14 reflector bulb of 25W. You could use a generic appliance bulb that's used in refrigerators but it wouldn't generate enough heat to start the lava flowing. I had to replace the metal piece that's screwed at the bottom to a shorter one because the bulb would otherwise stand tall and wouldn't allow to place the glass bottle. I used the original cord wire but removed the on-off switch which is rated to work at 110V. So anyway, it was a lot of effort to make it working but in the end it was worth it. Probably slightly short in illumination compared to the original bulb but the lava starts to flow nicely within 30 minutes.

Absolutely beautiful I was skeptical until I got it and its absolutely mind blowing everything is clear and awesome the colors are nice asf and also it can light up for so long and make the room look trippy asf worth every penny

冬場に購入し、電球は日本にあう物に交換しました。 室温15℃くらいで上下するのに5時間くらいかかります部屋の温度にもかなり影響されると思います。 暖かいと早い時間で動き出します どうしても早く動かせたいならコタツの中に入れるとか手はありますが...

温まらないと浮遊しないのが残念。ライトの熱だけだと数時間掛かるから50℃位のお湯で温めてから作動した方がいい。
