It's not a random collection of letters selling junk. I bought Kanthal and also Nichrome wire. According to the internet (look this up especially if you are inhaling anything) Nichrome heats up quicker (like for vaping coils) but is less durable. I question the idea of inhaling nickel in any quantity. Kanthal heats up less quickly. But its more durable and less susceptible to chemical attack. It's better suited for electric kilns. The concept of "heats up less quickly" is one of those things that the internet makes sound like it's an amount that is important but it is not. The wire gets stupid hot stupid quick. I am sure it takes a fraction of a second longer. If you are hitting the pipe 2000 times a day then 0.2 seconds per hit might make a difference. This wire is sturdy, but at this gauge, still flexible enough to bend and cut easily.
