Is this type 1 or type 2?

The packaging says--Normal Bias IEC Type 1 EQ 120 says--

I am wanting to verify that you are selling forty one blank cassettes for $4.84 with free shipping.

IF in deed there were a lot of 41, what that listing is saying is that the lot of 41 is 4.84 cents per tape. So you would have to indicate 41 to get the entire lot. I did a sample check on this listing and it did not let me put 41 items into the number...1 item from the listing did show up in my basket as 4.84 cents.

Does the cassettes have a clear case?

Yes the case the cassette comes in is clear. It has an insert made of paper which has the Maxell name and other information about the tape on it but this can easily be removed. It's not glued in or anything like that. Once that insert is removed the case is clear.
