who is the manufacturer and who certified the ce and iso testing?  i need to ensure they are "ce and iso certified for direct sun viewing" for family

EN1836:2005 + A1:2007 Sunglasses and sunglare filters for general use and filters for direct observation of the sun.  The ISO certification was performed by ICS Laboratories, Inc.  ISO 12312-2:2015 Eye and face protection - Sunglasses and related eyewear - part 2: Filters for direct observation of the sunYour family's safety is of the utmost importance to us, which is why we chose to have these manufactured in the USA. How can I verify mine were not from the scammer on this page?  The glasses contain the American Paper Optics LLC text, but couldn't that be copied?

Question 3

These state not to wear with "other optical devices," that doesn't mean normal glasses, does it?

More than likely it's referring to binoculars, telescopes, cameras, etc.  If you wear these glasses, then look through one of these devices, the focused/magnified light can burn a hole through the plastic filters, then right into your eyes causing serious damage.  (Think of a kid with a magnifying glass burning ants, only with your eyeball playing the role of the ant.)  If you do need to wear normal eyeglasses, make sure you put these filtered glasses over them, not under them.

Question 4

The Almanac recommends choosing glasses with shade number 12 or 14 filters.I don't see any information about this in the description.What are these?

Shade number 12 or 14 refers to welding goggles/glasses. Number 12 welding glasses are adequate, but let in more visible sunlight (0.0032%) than may be comfortable. Number 14 welding glasses allow on 0.0003% visible light (1/10 of the light #12 glass lets in.) They aren't designed to block infrared or ultraviolet rays. There is no information about glass "number" on these eclipse glasses because they are made of specially designed black polymer to transmit only 0.001% of visible sunlight and block 100% of ultraviolet and 100% infrared light.
