John Frieda Precision Foam Colour, Blue Black 2A Review: Good product - nice colour and very easy to use it. if ure hair under ur shoulder i advise to use 2 boxes. Review: I love this brand of hair colour, and I have been using it for years, because of how shiny it makes my hair [Sorry for the olde photo that shows my hair BEFORE I dyed it]. WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THIS KIT IS: ▪︎I leave my workspace while using it much less messy because the foam is so spill/splatter proof, as opposed to a liquid dye of other brands. If I do get a random spot of the dye anywhere, I just use a spot of Dawn on it asap and then no worries. ▪︎I've got long hair, so I use the entire contents, and I've got some noticeable grey hair, so I leave it on for the full 30 min. that the instructions say to. ▪︎After you have applied the foam, be sure to not skip lathering all of it up close on your scalp with your hands and fingers as well as the lengths of your hair, this way, you get full and uniform coverage and you've got a better chance of leaving no obvious undyed patches. Super important ! ▪︎It also has no strong chemical odor that can potentially cause you to tip over into an unconscious coma. ▪︎If it's your 1st time using it, the foam will not dispense from the bottle if you try to depress the black nozzle on the top of the bottle. You have got to very SLOWLY and SOFTLY turn the bottle upside down and then right side up for no more than 5 times. No fast, vigorous shaking of the bottle. That may be why some women are getting just liquid instead of the foam, IDK. Direct that question to John Frieda's cust. service. ▪︎Squeeze the MIDDLE of the see•through part of the bottle in order to render the foam. So NO fast, vigorous shaking and squeeze it from the CENTRE of the see through bottle, just like the instructions explain. ▪︎As long as you follow the instructions, you'll be fine. The shine payoff of this brand is what puts it above and beyond other home colouring kits. If you do not get the shine payoff after using it, maybe a previous process/product that is still in your hair is not letting the dye absorb uniformly or treat your hair evenly ? IDK, ASK YOUR HAIR STYLIST. ▪︎For my own hair, the shine does not remain in my hair for the full 6-8 weeks that the colour lasts, but it does leave my hair shiny for atleast 3-4 weeks. ▪︎Don't forget to use the after care conditioning tube, immediately after dying and then once a week for maintenance. I trust this vendor to get things right, and I would not hesitate to purchase from them again ! I hope anyone reading this will get the same experience as I do !

I get the John Freida Blue Black 2A and it is the ONLY box color I can find that helps to take out the red tint in my brown hair. It is so easy to use and honestly I like the way it looks better than when I go get my hair done at the salon.

I haven't been this satisfied with an at home hair color in over 3 years! Loved the foam! It was very easy to use! Also loved the packaging......quite fancy for the price point! Would definitely recommend. Already reordered!

UPDATE: This didn't last as long as I'd hoped it would. I'm about 5 weeks post application and grays are starting to peek through again. I'd also say the color has faded enough that it no longer qualifies as ebony, but instead a very, very dark brown. I'll likely have to reapply every 6 weeks. Was hoping to get at least 8 to 10. 3.5 star rating, as opposed to 4. This turns your hair a beautiful cool shade of black. It's perfect for those of us with fair, porcelain complexions. Pros: --The mousse is easy to apply. --It smells nice. --My husband helped apply this, but I think a woman could easily do it on her own if she was careful. --The end results looked beautiful (see picture below). --I'm 2 1/2 weeks past application, I have no grays showing, and my hair is still black. It's faded some, but I'm okay with that...it looks a little more natural now. --I really liked the post-color conditioner and sealant included in the box. Cons: --You need a lot of product, particularly if you have thick hair. I ordered 2 boxes and used both entirely. I probably could have used another, as my hair never did lather like it was supposed to (as per the instructions). My hair just seemed to soak it right up. --You have to be very careful when applying...it stains everything. We had it on our floor tile and grout...and on the cabinets of our vanity. Thankfully, a Mr. Erasure removed most of it, but I'd still recommend being very careful. It stains a bright violet color. Thankfully, it does seem to come off skin fairly easily. --The water still runs lavender every time I wash my hair...2 1/2 weeks after I dyed my hair. I find that a little odd, but it hasn't stained my pillow case. Overall, I'd totally recommend this product. I even ordered 2 extra boxes when they dropped $2 in price last week.

Ordered a blue black. I have a long (goes down to my chest) and thick hair. Initially ordered 1 but got nervous about not having enough for my hair after getting the product and reading the instruction. It says the length past the shoulder line might need more than 1 bottle. BUT! I’m glad I just went for it because for me 1 bottle was just enough. Left it for 30 mins after applying to my hair. The foam texture makes it so much easier to apply & it stays on however you shape it unless you move too much, so it wasn’t a struggle waiting for the time. Also it doesn’t have typical strong hair dye smell which was a plus. Foamy texture also makes it easy to wash it off when it got on my skin around forehead or neck areas, it comes off pretty well unlike liquid hair dye products that are hard to rub off. After washing with the conditioner that comes with it, the color seemed to be evenly applied and I have to complaints on result. It doesn’t feel like my hair’s damaged at all. Honestly with the length and thickness my hair has it would’ve cost me around $300 to dye it at a salon, so happy to have done this by myself with such great price. I’d buy more in the future when color fades away, honestly I don’t mind having to do this 3-4 times a year (if I have to, can’t say how often I’ll have to at this point), it was so easy and quick. I hope this review helps future buyers!
