The Very Hungry Caterpillar board book

When teaching English to my Japanese kindergarten students, The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a book I always like to have on hand. It helps that the book has been translated into Japanese and can be found in most kindergartens, so most students know the story already. But Carle's amazing illustrations and simple language make this an easy book for the kids to understand and enjoy in English.私は英語保育の先生です。この絵本はとてもいいとわかりやすいです。子どもたちはこの絵本を大好きです。

size is little small

最近９歳になったドイツ在住の孫（両親ともに日本人）この本が好きで３歳くらいから日本語で丸暗記、そのうちドイツ語でも暗記、８月に孫が３年生になり、小学校で英語も始まったので、Ｓｋｙｐｅで娘、孫に日本から私も加わり英語で暗記ごっごをして遊びました。お届けいただいた本は私が使いました。とても楽しい本だと思います。絵も綺麗。

I bought for my 2 years old, so I wanted a book that would survive the touch of toddlers. He loves it. The size is perfect for him, but to small if you want to use it for a reading with few kids.Sadly the book was damage inside the package. Also think that it is over expensive (8$) more than Canada or the US. It is hard to find English books in Japan so I’m not really that surprised at the price tag.

I read this as a child and now I’ll read it to my child. The wonderful colors and simple but relevant story is great for bedtime story.

この本は、昔から大好きで、友人のお子さんにもプレゼントしたいと購入しました。今回、分厚い大判の形で販売されていることを知り、取り寄せたというわけです。すばらしいと、思いました。小さな子供は、本を叩いたり、乱暴にページをめくったりしますが、そのさい指を傷つけたりしない工夫が施されていて、やんちゃな子供が何度でも繰り返し、安心して楽しめる絵本です。

The holes in this version are too small. My sons baby fingers barely fit in the holes. I love this book but they holes should be made larger.

我が家では3冊目のはらぺこあおむし。日本で売っているボードブックサイズ。赤ちゃんなので壊しまくり、破りまくりを防げるので本当にちょうどいいサイズ感。子供も破らず上手に自分でページをめくれます。(粗めの男の子です。)寝る前に読んで、壁にかけて飾ってます。

Ma fille adore

It is a good book. Children learn about the days of the week, counting to five and more, the names of different food, what happens when we eat too much, and a little about how butterflies are born. I do wish the caterpillar could be seen moving through the food, but overall, great learning points in one book.

This book is exactly how i remember from my own childhood. Being a ‘90s baby I was happy to be able to share a childhood favourite with my own son. He loves the book and the colorful pictures

This is a nice, sturdy board book edition of Eric Carle's classic book. The book content is terrific, with brightly colored pictures and great language for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and early readers. The nice thick board book pages mean that when a little one sticks their fingers in the holes the caterpillar "eats" through the pages, the pages won't rip like a paperback.This was a gift and apparently it was a hit! The 2 year old kept asking adults to read this to her over and over again. Just what every gift-giver likes to hear.
