Review: Indulgent recharge - I am an older guy who still works out with a regime of cardio 3 times a week (stepper/exercise bike) weights (up to 50kg) a couple of sessions of aquarobics for cardio and low impact and I walk around 50k steps a week. Nothing serious, but enough for a 70 year old. So why do I need these bars? Actually I don't, but I find that during workouts I have benefited from enjoying a whey protein shake to help keep muscle tone and I have now started to supplement this with the occasional protein based energy bar. To be honest, I don't think that anything replaces a balanced meal, but sometimes after a workout, enjoying one of these bars is better than eating a chocolate bar or similar, particularly when time is of the essence. I am not sure whether they boost my energy level at all, primarily as I have trained for years and as I have said twice, I am getting on a bit. There is more sugar and carbs than I like, but if it is just protein you require, you might be better off eating a chicken breast! Purchasing from desertcart on Subscribe and Save represents even better value than the already competitive price for a single purchase so good value for money. The size is about right for me and combined with some fruit is sufficient for a light lunch. Overall a decent poduct and these taste ok. A good degree of fibre, vitamins and trace minerals.
