I've had my Leatherman Surge for over a month now, and let me tell you, it's been a game changer! I absolutely love this multitool and would recommend it to anyone who needs a reliable tool for daily use. It’s a bit bigger than the Wave+, but that just means it’s got a bit more heft for tougher jobs, which has been perfect for me. I use it constantly, not just around the house but also in my business—it's been a lifesaver for fixing wiring on trailers and tackling other quick fixes. I got a replacement for the one that gone missing/lost - the leatherman surge/black ... I've always been impressed with the clip point and the serrated blade, default sharp and it's just heavy duty right out of the box, ready to go. Between this and the victorinox swisstool, these are my tried tested and true go to tools. My first leatherman surge, I hardly used because it seemed like such a shame/waste to use because I was so impressed by the craftsmanship, but as with all things in life, the purpose is to be used, so I'm living more of that principle with this one by making it the workhorse, mainly for the outside work, in the workshop, for carpentry touch ups and finishes, for just whatever, whether it's power equipment maintenance, quick and dirty course work to clean off components... Always carry a few trusted multi-tools for the severity of the job, each have their own size of screws (phillips/slotted) but yeah this is my workhorse for the dirty jobs and more robust, I'm not feeling too bad about scratching, my other swisstool is functional as well, but I still like to preserve the beauty as long as I can without it getting all beaten and scratched up :-D The primary blades, scissors, and wide flathead and awl/reamer are the most used for my needs, but yeah...this tool has heft and not flimsy by any means. It's hard to not like, be impressed by a quality item that really speaks for itself.

First of all this tool is genuinely built for real use! It seems super tough and has some very good tools, I look forward to using it. The machining on it is flawless. The tool came spotlessly clean and well finished. Every detail looks perfect. I would say I would give this as a Gift to my dad or a friend who likes heavy duty multi tools. Each feature is easy to access and use. The things I like best, 1 heavy duty construction everything is buff and durable looking. It has a good heavy weight that inspires confidence. 2 the selection of tools is great for what I do for work, HVAC. It almost seems like it was made for my job! 3 I have a SOG multitool a couple leatherman tools and had a couple of gerbers, SOG and gerber are good companies and have some great innovations and ideas but I don’t like the feel of gerber or the way they do their pliers, I don’t like that SOG doesn’t use better materials for the blades and tools. Leatherman has great materials and the best surface finishing and they do a lot of research and development on each function. I have always loved their aesthetic. (I wish they would make a copy cat of the PST with replaceable cutters honestly.) Now there are a few things I’m not super happy about (the closest thing to the perfect multitool was probably the original super tool.) 1 the spring tension on the locks that hold the tools out is too light and they rattle when the pliers are folded up , they also have some movement to allow for disengaging the lock but the tab got stuck open and I had to hit it to move it back into place! 😬 the rattle is only a little annoying and if I don’t do anything dumb I think the locks won’t bind again. 2 the pliers open surprisingly easily and I worry that as it breaks in it will open way to easy. I don’t want my leatherman to flop open with no resistance as soon as I take it out of the pouch that’s just annoying so I hope the tension stays as it is. Lastly and this is for the seller. Why does the thumbnail when I bought the tool show a pouch and the tool together but when I got it there was no pouch?? I mean I went back and looked at the listing and there is one place where it says no pouch but then in several pictures it shows it with a pouch including the little picture next to the your item has shipped message, it seems like something that should be corrected! I’m glad I had an old Molly compatible pouch it fits in or I would have this beast in my pocket getting lint in it and trying to push it’s hard core self through the pocket seam. 😂

Encontre reseñas que decian que es la mejor de la marca para uso rudo, incluso hay un video donde la ponen a prueba de resistencia y sale bien librada, he visto reseñas donde la comparan con otras marcas y sale ganadora, he visto que ya existen clones aunque con menos calidad de materiales y he visto que la marca ya esta impulsando un nuevo modelo como su insignia a pesar que no se le compara. Lo que me he fijado es que la Surge es excelente, no solo por su buena construccion, su gran resistencia, su portabilidad (dicen que una parte negativa es el peso, la he llevado en el bolsillo y no me parece gran problema) Pero lo que hace distinta sobre las demas es su flexibilidad, tiener acceso a colocarle la hoja en T que necesites o la punta de desarmador que requieras la coloca de las multiherramientas mas flexibles y por tanto, mas utiles del mercado, ahora entiendo porque le tienen tanto cariño y es verdad, es muy comoda de usar. Existe un video de Todd Parker que recomienda acompañarla de unas pinzas Knipex Cobra XS, un juego de dados KleinTools, una lampara A8, acompañado del juego de puntas wiha o galvanox. Todo eso es suficiente para tener toda una caja de herramientas bastante confianble en una bolsa pequeña de las de camaras fotograficas. Sin duda una excelente herramienta.

Only disadvantage is the weight but otherwise it hasnt failed me. The scissors are excellent and the design of all the elements is excellent. It is a bit disappointing to only have one screwdriver (the biggest one) in situ and I found I needed to accessory set of scewdriver heads containing about 48 alternative heads for the removable heads provided. This is an excellent accessory covering allan screws as well as philips and ordinary screwdrivers and fits in the pouch without making it bulky. Also the saw is incredibly sharp and does cut real wood and trees with a replaceable blade.

Leathermans top quality, beautiful ergonomics, this tool is the whole package with the exchangeable bits, saw and file blades, big scissors, pliers and cutters, multiple knife blades. If you want something as comprehensive as the wave + but bigger this is it! Its great for sheath carry around the house or yard i can make repairs and change batteries without having to go to the work bench all the time. The saw is great for around the yard or out on the trail when i dont have a wood saw handy. I love that i can change the leatherman bit kit on the spot. Its not a light carry but its comprehensive and would suit most tradesman and hamden truck drivers etc. at work on a daily basis
